Back in August, we reported that Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach had lost, among other things, "Bob Dylan hair" in the divorce between him and his wife Stephanie Gonis (with whom he has a daughter). Sadly, TMZ reports that Auerbach and his wife were never in possession of Robert Zimmerman's hair follicles (at least, according to public knowledge):

Auerbach told the website that the annotation in the divorce proceedings actually referred to a poster the pair owned that they had nicknamed "Bob Dylan's hair". Less exciting, I know. Check out the poster here.

According to TMZ, Auerbach also said that "if he ever decides he wants an authentic lock from Bob, he now has a pipeline into the singer to get one, thanks to a generous Dylan family member," which could be Auerbach just fucking with TMZ, so who knows. (Hey, the Black Keys do have a pretty good sense of humor.) At any rate, revisit the Black Keys' cover of Dylan's "Wicked Messenger" for the 2007 I'm Not There soundtrack.
