The Magical Appeal of NHK’s Asadora
Takeshi Usami
Professor of Modern Literature, Faculty of Letters, Chuo University
Area of Specialization: Modern Japanese Literature
My field of research broadly encompasses modern literature, such as the works of Haruki Murakami, as well as comprehensive research into fiction spanning theater, movies and TV drama series, etc. I have tended to emphasize TV drama series among these, since they are the genre enjoyed by much larger number of people than many others and, as such, I believe they reflect the state of mind of people living in today’s society. Changsha Zoumalou Wujian (Zoumalou bamboo and wooden slips) and the Tama Hills
—Exceeding Time and Space
Yukinobu Abe
Professor of Ancient Chinese History, Faculty of Letters, Chuo University
On March 12th, I visited Changsha for the first time in a long time. Located in southern China, Changsha City is the capital of Hunan Province. The Xiang River flows languidly through the city from south to north. Although the motor boat is no longer in operation, the river bustles with a never-ending stream of large cargo ships and small ferry boats. [ More ]

The Quest for Effectiveness of Clinicopsychological Support
Ryo Shimoda
Professor of Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Letters, Chuo University

Indeed, psychology can even be compared to researching the universe, for it explores the boundless realms of mind. [ More ]

—The Faculty of Law Correspondence Division
Takashi Inomata
Professor of Civil Procedure Law, Head of Correspondence Division, Faculty of Law, Chuo University
“80 thousand yen will change your life.” Have you heard this phrase before? It was used in 2013 in advertisements by the Correspondence Division of the Faculty of Law (hereinafter referred to as the “Correspondence Division” or “our Correspondence Division”). In March 2014, the catchphrase was used in posters hung in subway cars of Tokyo Metro, above the windows of train cars on the JR Chuo Line and Yamanote Line, and in door stickers of train cars on the Tobu Line. Viewing more than 500 games per year
―Even busier now that Ma-Kun has joined the Yankees
Mr. Yoshikazu Fukushima
Major League Baseball Commentator
The 2014 season looks like it will be even busier than last year now that pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (formerly of the Rakuten Eagles) will play in the Major Leagues as a member of the Yankees. Major League Baseball commentator Yoshikazu Fukushima (57) is a graduate of Chuo University. He first became interested in the majors while he was a university student and watches more than 500 games during the season. His lifestyle is even more demanding than that of the actual players!
