The Buzz: If we can agree that Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) lacked humor - an element that has made the other Avengers movies fun to watch - then perhaps that was the impetus to hire Joe and Anthony Russo, best known for their work on "Arrested Development" and "Community", to co-direct the sequel, which picks up where the original left off, with Steve Rogers getting his bearings after being transported from WWII to the present day. Also being transported through time is Rogers's close friend, Bucky Barnes, whose surprise existence doesn't necessarily make for a happy reunion ... though it should help make for a more compelling and complex villain scenario.

The Buzz: Writer/director Richard Shepard has been working mostly in TV since his experiencing an indie-film breakthrough, The Matador, back in 2005. His career heated up again thanks to "Girls", where he has directed a handful of episodes, some of them featuring the incredible Richard E. Grant, who co-stars here. Jude Law finds himself surrounded by a wonderful principal cast who have found success on television; Law himself seems like a prime candidate for a cable-TV program, right?

The Buzz: Someday, someone will stitch together the most graphic moments of the cinematic relationship between Lars von Trier and Charlotte Gainsbourg; while we wait for that tribute to service, it's almost time to think about when von Trier will strike next and what the subject matter will be. The Buzz: CBS Films gets into the found-footage niche market with this, the feature debut from filmmaking duo Derek Lee and Clif Prowse, who won big at last year's Fantastic Fest, where Afflicted won Best Director, Screenplay, and Best Picture. Odd that there's been very little promotion for the release though.
