    Routledge is delighted to announce that we will be attending the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture Conference (CELA) this month.

  2. A Video with Tom Turner on Garden Design, Ideas, and History

    Tom Turner edits the Gardenvisit.com website and teaches on the undergraduate and Masters programmes in garden history and landscape architecture at the University of Greenwich in London. He is also the author of British Gardens, European Gardens, Asian Gardens, and Garden History.  In this video he presents garden history in general--concerning how garden design has been the result of the interplay of ideas of art, religion, philosophy, planting, construction, and much else. His video ends with a statement on the growing importance of sustainable garden design.

  1. Rod Barnett Gives Annual Olmsted Lecture at Harvard GSD

    This year author Rod Barnett (Emergence in Landscape Architecture, 2013) gave the annual Olmsted lecture at Harvard GSD. If you didn’t attend, the whole lecture is available on YouTube now. Rod discusses the main topic of the book, emergence, and in the lecture his focus is on non-linear landscapes in particular. bit.ly/HFgDwf

  2. Sir Peter Hall On How To Fix The UK’s Domestic Architecture

    The following article is by British urbanist, town planner, and geographer Peter Hall. As Bartlett Professor of Planning and Regeneration at University College London, and President of both the Town and Country Planning Association and the Regional Studies Association, Hall is internationally renowned for his studies on all aspects of cities and regions. He recently published the book Good Cities, Better Lives: How Europe Discovered the Lost Art of Urbanism.
