I live in Los Angeles. It happens to me all the time and it’s not fun. I hope that it will be worth it.”

Michael Chiklis Joins ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’

3 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Michael Chiklis is returning to FX, this time as part of the ensemble on “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”

Chiklis will play the former husband of Kathy Bates’ character and father of Evan Peters’ character in the fourth-season incarnation of “American Horror Story.” Creator Ryan Murphy announced the fan-friendly casting as part of the “Ahs” Paleyfest panel on Friday at the Dolby Theater.

Murphy disclosed earlier this week that “Freak Show” would live up to its title. Set in the early 1950s in Jupiter, Fla., “Ahs” mainstay Jessica Lange will play a German expatriate who runs a sideshow circus.

Chiklis starred in the edgy cop show “The Shield” that put FX on the map with original programming map from 2002 to 2008. The TV vet most recently starred in CBS’ period drama “Vegas” last season.

Chiklis was on hand for Friday’s Paleyfest session to trumpet the news.

Piers Morgan ends CNN show with gun-control plea

3 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Los Angeles (AP) — CNN host Piers Morgan issued one last plea for U.S. gun control as he wrapped up his show's three-year run. Morgan devoted the prime-time show's final minutes Friday night to the issue that he said has been a "consistent and often very controversial" part of "Piers Morgan Live." The British-born host cited gun violence statistics and expressed dismay that mass shootings including those in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., haven't led to stricter laws. Morgan blamed politicians that he said had been bullied into "cowardly" silence by a gun lobby led by the National Rifle Association. A message seeking comment from the NRA was left Friday night with an answering service at its headquarters. Piers concluded with remarks addressed to his critics. "To those who claim my gun control campaign has been anti-American, well, the reverse is true. I'm so pro-American I want more of you to stay alive, »

New York (AP) — Lady Gaga celebrated her 28th birthday with an energetic but short concert at the Roseland Ballroom in her first of seven concerts at the closing venue. Gaga performed for an hour Friday night in front of a feverish crowd. She started with a slow version of "Born This Way" on piano, with the audience joining in. She followed that with the jams "Monster" and "Bad Romance." She danced and sang on the side of the stage in a red tight leotard. "Thank you so much for spending my birthday with me," she yelled to the audience, which included her actor-boyfriend Taylor Kinney and Nate Ruess, lead singer for the band Fun. Gaga was in top form as she sang nearly a dozen of her songs, including "Just Dance," an acoustic version of "Poker Face," and the recent hit "Applause." Interview: Lindsey Ogle discusses quitting 'Survivor: Cagayan'

4 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Survivor" isn't a show for quitters and yet many players have quit on "Survivor" over 28 seasons. Players have quit with broken bones, nasty infections, heart problems, stomach problems and whatever those two things were that caused Colton to quit. Jenna quit to be near her ailing mother. Susan quit because Richard Hatch rubbed against her. Various levels of in-game misery caused Janu, Kathy, NaOnka and Purple Kelly to quit. On Wednesday (March 26) night's "Survivor: Cagayan," Lindsey Ogle quit because of her concerns that if she continued to spend time with gloating Bostonian Trish, something bad might happen. Jeff Probst hailed this as a strange sort of "Survivor" first. As a result, the Solana tribe lost Cliff and Lindsey, which Trish and Tony hailed as a huge triumph, even if they were now way down in numbers.  Solana subsequently won two straight challenges, which as either a fluke or addition by subtraction. »

Review: 'Hannibal' - 'Mukozuke'

5 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

A review of tonight's "Hannibal" coming up just as soon as my demographic is murderers and people obsessed with murderers... Early in "Mukozuke," Will Graham gets trussed up in perhaps the most iconic cinematic look for Dr. Hannibal Lecter, with a straightjacket to restrict his movement, a dolly to move him around and a bite mask to cover his mouth. He has been playing the classic role of Hannibal the Cannibal, and here he gets to wear the costume. Yet so much of this fantastic episode is there to show us the ways in which Will Graham is not like Hannibal Lecter. You can put him into the psychiatric hospital, have him advise the FBI on cases, joust with Dr. Chilton and smile creepy smiles, but he is not the man he has been framed to seem like. It's not just that he does not enjoy the thought of consuming human flesh, »
