Walk The Nile

Walk the Nile

Inspired by his lifelong fascination with Africa and the great explorers of the nineteenth century, expedition leader, writer and photographer Levison Wood has recently embarked on a year-long challenge: to become the first person to successfully walk the entire length of the River Nile. On 1st December 2013, Levison took the first steps of his 4,250 mile expedition and so began a unique exploration of the continent in the most ambitious and intimate way possible: walking every step of the Nile from source to delta and in the process encountering modern Africa - its people and its wildlife - face to face and at ground level. It’s not only one of the last, great “firsts” in global exploration but also opens up a cross-section through a continent undergoing extraordinary change, and reveals seven very different but equally fascinating countries.
