Paid-for application downloads include one issue of the user’s choice.
Further future issues and back issues can be purchased within the app.
Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the next released issue.
Available subscriptions are:
7 days: £1.49/ US$1.99(6 issues - Monday to Saturday)
1 month: £4.99/ US$6.99(~26 issues)
3 months: £12.99/ US$17.99(~78 issues)
12 months: £44.99/ US$64.99(312 issues)
-The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period, you will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
-You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period.
Users can register for/ login to an account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms.
If you are unable to register in-app please do so at http://www.pocketmags.com/independent/register.aspx and login to the app using these details.
We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved.
If your app will not load past the splash page after a first install or an update please delete and reinstall the app from the App Store

i newspaper
Provides all the daily news you expect from a daily newspaper concisely, yet with the detail and analysis you need to understand sometimes complex news stories and their background. It has none of the sensationalism, gossip and tittle-tattle of the tabloids, and isn't politically biased in its reporting.
The i newspaper app works flawlessly, alerting you to new issues available to download just after midnight if you happen to be awake and using your iPad at that time, or if you've gone to bed at a sensible time, in the morning.
In the past I've subscribed to other newspapers on my Kindle, and they were very cut down versions of the paper versions of the newspapers. The i newspaper app though is an exact copy, full-colour full digital copy of the physical paper, with the added bonus that you can complete the crossword on your iPad as well!
I would highly recommend both the newspaper and the app.
Oh dear...
Love this paper & my first experience of the iPad version via a 1 month subscription was great. However….. following the monthly auto renewal things have gone downhill fast. Even though I have an active subscription I don't have the option to download the daily issue anymore, despite getting a new issue alert, instead i just get a subscribe option! Additionally, the account registration option is just laughable as once done you can't log-in. Finally, customer support is non existent despite an email via help option. Deleting and re-installing the app doesn't work either. How can they get it so wrong, these kind of apps will never take off unless the developers address some serious issues (see also Times/Sunday Times). Very annoyed
It's no better than the last time I wrote a review.
The app appears to be somewhat temperamental. Today the issue was just a black page and the app crashed when I clicked on download. Reported to support and have received no response. No surprise there as they're generally useless. I like the publication, and I like being able to read it on my iPad.
My advice is to buy it from your local newsagent unless you like banging your head against a wall!
