Lists tagged 'Halloween'
Horror is a genre that I cannot digest. It deprives me of sleep and injects me with a whole lot of unnecessary fear. You'd think I want nothing to do with Halloween. However, I passionately love a dark Autumn night. Therefore on October 31st I like to cuddle up in front of the television and enjoy a not-so-scary Halloween themed evening. Though softies can rejoice, not all titles on this list are appropriate for children.
Here is a list of movies that I think are well made horror films. E.g. Pyscho and Alien didn't make the list because I consider them thriller and sci-fi.
If I had more weed, I could do this forever, but I have other things to do. :)

Not in any particular order. Here are just some suggestions for a scary (or funny and scary) night in on Halloween. Not listing the obvious ones: Halloween, Friday the 13th, The hills have eyes, Texas chainsaw massacre, the howling, the shining, the Exorcism or the Rocky horror picture show..but you should see all of these. :D
Without settling for sickly sweet, poorly produced pabulum for the kiddies, or trying to test their tolerance for terror, these fright flicks ought to whet their whistles for the real deal... once they're old enough.
These movies can be listed in any order. I'm not judging the stories, acting or production values.
With Halloween quickly approaching, here's a "why not" of what I personally consider to be the greatest horror films ever made.
I hate when people confuse terror with scares. The scares are another thing and are even fun. But do not let you get into the film, therefore, no fear.
A lot of people is confused.
Remember: Horror =/= scares

It was hard for me to name just 20 best Halloween movies, so I'm just going to list all my favorites , from the ones that I've seen so far. They're not all necessarily the typical Holloween movie, but just films that are weird and really scare the hell out of you! In no particular order.
What's funny is that most of these lists are "My Favorite" or "Here's my list." Sure, this list might be of some opinion, but I'm not telling you simply what I think is good, I'm letting you guys know what YOU should see. This is less my list and more all of yours. If you haven't, check on these titles, and if you like what you see, go out and see more movies of similar quality. Because if you found this, then you, like me, are a cinema lover. These are 10 very good to excellent horror movies you just may have overlooked in the past...
Top 10 horror films made between 1930 and 1959. Been a bit harsh here and cut off some fabulous films such as Les Diaboliques, Day of Wrath and House By the River. They are simply not horror enough IMO.
I saw a nice call-to-action to make a Halloween list, so I decided to go ahead and do so. So I thought, why don't I list my favorite horror movies? Except I barely have any favorite horror movies, because I don't really like horror to begin with. Instead, this is a list of movies that broadly qualify as "horror" that I like.
Get into the Halloween mood by checking some of these classic horrors out over the coming month.
These are movies which freaked me out as a kid.

A list of movies with a young heroine who finds herself in strange circumstances and must rely on her own resourcefulness (and sometimes unexpected allies) to get back home (or wherever else she wants to be). All contain fantasy elements, some horror.
