My husband and I have been banking with Bank of Queensland for many years. We currently have 4 home loans, a credit card and savings account with them. Our 4 children also have accounts and loans with Bank of Queensland. Their interest rates are always competitive and they are consistently one of the first financial institutions to pass on interest rate cuts! I love the fact that when we ring the bank we can speak directly with the Manager - makes us feel like VIP's. The loan officers answer emails quickly and we are greeted by staff that actually remember us when we call in for everyday business! Our experience with Bank of Queensland has definitely been positive and, in this day and age, the personal service we have received over the years keeps us loyal customers.

I like Bankwest mainly because the ease of use and customer service. As a result of this I find it easy to trust my bank and therefore will be willing to promote the bank to family or friends. Customer service was a real high point as when we initially signed up they were supportive and explained to me the sign up benefits clearly. Follow up letters explaining the subsequent set-up followed which were really helpful. I think a real strong point is the convenience in which I can bank. Perhaps what I find most useful is that Bankwest has a mobile website that is optimized for smartphone viewing. If I'm short of cash I can bank on my phone and transfer funds to my debit card-with ease. Also as the Commonwealth Bank own Bankwest I can use either/or of their ATM's without getting a withdrawal fee. I also think that on a subconscious level the aesthetic website design and use of a relatively attractive woman makes Bankwest appear to be more trustworthy and credible. One negative that I do find is the very low interest rates. On my student account, I earn 0.01% interest paid monthly. With a rate that low I don't know why Bankwest would even bother. I would have to have $100,000 in the savings account for an entire month to receive $10 interest. Despite the low interest rates I believe the customer service, ease of access and website design are superb.I trust Bankwest by rating them a 9/10 and I give them an overall rating of 8/10.

I have found our credit card to be very convenient and in addition to earning loyalty points, this has been our card of choice for everyday expenses. The Commonwealth Bank has great customer service with little wait time on the telephone and each time I have spoken with a courteous and upbeat employee. On some occasions however, I have been told inconsistent processes about dealing with the purpose of my call (eg. an interest charge applied to my account which was to be remitted could have been achieved at the time of my first call but the original employee told me to call back in a couple of day).

A really reliable, trustworthy bank, the Queensland Teachers Mutual Bank has supported me through thick and thin since 1976. There has never been a moment when I have considered changing my bank. They were first here in Queensland with ATM's and followed pretty quickly with telephone then online banking, well ahead of most of their competitors. Courtesy and consideration have been their watchwords. Initially for teachers only, the QTMB is now open to many customers - so take advantage of their great service!

I have banked with Bank SA for quite a few years. I have found their internet website to be very easy to follow and understand. In comparison to another Bank's website that is used by a family member, the Bank SA site is exceptionally user friendly. I conduct most of my banking via the website, including all payments - which are incredibly easy, using their interbank transfers, other bank transfers and BPay. You can set up yourself, periodical payments to payees, scheduling them when ever you like automatically, saving you time and stress about whether you have paid your accounts on time. You can also break up large bills using this system into smaller amounts weekly/fortnightly or whenever required. The simplicity of the internet website causes one not to visit the branch very often these days. The occassional ATM withdrawal may be required, but not necessarily at your own branch. Therefore there appears to not be the personal communication that one receives on a face to face physical encounter, thus leaving one with a feeling of being alone in their banking realm. I do not think that this is a situation common only to the Bank of SA. As with all Banks moving to an encounterless situation with their clients concerning their day to day banking needs, I cannot judge Bank SA harshly on this basis. On the odd occassion I may have to enter a branch to deposit a cheque, the staff have provided efficient service, albiet not exceptionally friendly, but proficient. Previously I have had to deal with the Bank Manager on more complicated issues involving estates and wills, where I found that their knowledge was lacking in comparison to mine. This is not peculiar to just Bank SA, as I have found several other Banks on the same matter were quite unprepared for some situations. My summary would be that on my experience Bank SA has provided enough services for me to have a pleasant relationship with them as my primary Banker, but only on the premise that I attend to most of my banking services myslef via the internet Banking website.

The personal loan is easy to use. Just pick up the phone and they will help you instantly. Recent phone call that I made to make changes on my loan account, they can now accept verbal acceptance which makes it even easier & less time to process. It took a few days with paper works need to be sent out to us then back to the bank before they can make any changes to the account. This is great!

I like this bank because after comparing quite a few major bank competitors, I found suncorp more attractive not only in offering higher interest rates over different term deposit terms, but the customer service I received was amazing at the branch that I went to. Everything was explained to me very thoroughly and i as given a certificate and comprehensive booklet and information and if there was anything that I didn't understand i was re assured with further explanation and not felt like i was being rushed. I then also received good advice on my existing bank account that I have had with suncorp for many ears and was told that i could reduce some of the fees that i was constantly getting with withdrawals just by updating to another account but without having to change anything. It was just all updated on my existing account. I would have to say my experience was at a very high satisfaction and wouldn't hesitate in recommending suncorp to anyone.

Commonwealth Bank personal loan review by Narelle from Victoria

Have banked with Commonwealth Bank since childhood, have had personal loans, no defaults, and only ever offered or secured into credit cards and personal loans at high rates. When requesting to consolidate home loan with other bank and credit, almost approved then rejected last minute and offered a personal loan. Again some years later similar scenario to consolidate just personal credit and had even signed contracts and in a matter of hours of approval and signing withdrawn and refused feedback. Later offered to rollover credit card to personal loan to "help" and found interst rate over 16% and a dead end loan. Cant wait to pay out and be rid of.
