VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN) today provided a statement on the pending review by the Department of Commerce of Verisign's .com Registry Agreement renewal with Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to serve as the authoritative registry operator for the .com registry.
The .com Registry Agreement was approved by Verisign's Board of Directors on June 16, 2012, ICANN's Board of Directors on June 23, 2012, and tendered by Verisign to the Commerce Department for its review and approval on June 26, 2012.
