Work experience and Vacation employment

ActewAGL knows that getting experience in your field of interest is important for your future employment.  That's why we offer several ways to gain on-the-job exposure that can assist in acquiring the job you want.

 

Work experience

We support local schools in our community by providing work experience opportunities for students in their final years of study.

Work experience usually involves five consecutive days work. During this time, students learn to operate as part of a work team as well as perform and observe a range of work-related activities.

Vacation employment

Occasionally we will employ high achieving university students over the university summer holiday period. This provides students with a great opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained at university in a work setting whilst gaining a wage for the period. Please keep an eye on our website for opportunities or email recruitment@actewagl.com.au for further information.

ActewAGL is often represented at local and national career events.

  • Get information on upcoming career and work placement events involving ActewAGL.
  • Engage an ActewAGL careers speaker. We have a number of staff located in various business areas who can provide information to students on career opportunities and jobs at ActewAGL. Topics we can cover include:
    • finance
    • water
    • apprenticeships (electricity)
    • marketing and communications
    • customer service
    • corporate citizenship
  • Submit an online request to our Human Resources team for an ActewAGL careers speaker, or for information on any of the above.
