SAG Awards: 'Game of Thrones' star Natalie Dormer shaves head for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay'

Did Margaery Tyrell get a hair makeover?

At Saturday night’s SAG AwardsGame of Thrones star Natalie Dormer unveiled her head-turning new look — a half-shaved hairstyle.

“It’s been hidden for 3 months. It happened back in October. I was, you know, waiting for the right moment,” Dormer told EW of her new ‘do, which she got in preparation to play Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. ”I’ve never shaved my head before. My man has his head shaved, so… I’d rub it and think, ‘This is gonna be me!’”

In the book, Cressida is described as having “a shaved head tattooed with green vines.” Does that mean Dormer is going to go full cue ball? READ FULL STORY

Miley Cyrus to wear Roberto Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, Bob Mackie on 'Bangerz' tour

Miley Cyrus enjoys finding new ways to get naked, so it’s hardly surprising that the costumes for her upcoming Bangerz tour are long on sex appeal and short on fabric.

Earlier today Italian designer Roberto Cavalli released sketches of six looks created for the 21 year-old singer to wear on stage. The most provocative ensemble is a stretch silk tulle Swarovski crystal spattered jumpsuit (above) that creates a “nude effect on the body.” Other items include a black zebra-pattern jumpsuit, an overwashed denim bra embroidered with studs and crystals, and a python-print jacket with matching short shorts.

In addition to the Cavalli costumes, Cyrus will wear outfits by designers Marc JacobsThe Blonds, and Jeremy Scott — as well as pieces from the archives of Cher’s go-to designer Bob Mackie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, each designer was assigned a specific section of the Bangerz show. ”Clothes for me, or lack thereof, say a lot,” Cyrus recently joked.

'Sleepy Hollow' stars talk Ichabod's skinny jeans encounter

Ichabod Crane rocked skinny jeans in this week’s Sleepy Hollow and though the moment was shortlived, we certainly enjoyed it. The same can’t be said for the displaced soldier, though, who made his displeasure well known — a reaction actor Nicole Beharie, who plays baddie-fighter A/Ichabod-ally Abbie, jokingly says she didn’t appreciate.

“I was hoping he’d been a little bit more open to the clothes that Abbie spent all of her hard-earned money buying for him so that he could smell fresh and clean,” she told EW this past week during the Television Critics Association press tour. “I don’t care what he has on, to be honest. As long as he’s clean.”

Don’t look for Ichabod to be squeezing into jeans again any time before the end of the season, which wraps up Monday with a two-hour finale. (But we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more jeans in season 2!)

Oscars 2014: The nominees for best costume design are...

The wardrobe designers for the Roaring ’20s set The Great Gatsby, ’70s con-artist comedy American Hustle, and the powerfully moving 12 Years a Slave are among this year’s Oscar nominees for best costume design.

Catherine Martin was recognized twice for her work on Baz Luhrmann’s Gatsby, scoring nominations in the costume design and production design categories. If she wins them both, it won’t be the first time she’ll have to give two acceptance speeches — in 2002, Martin took home the costume and production Oscars for Moulin Rouge. Martin designed most of the costumes for Gatsby herself, supplementing her work with flapperesque dresses from the Prada archives, and suits co-designed with Brooks Brothers.

Michael Wilkinson helped David O. Russell resurrect the Disco era for Hustle, outfitting Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence in a mix of vintage Halston gowns and custom cut-down-to-there dresses — not to mention Adams’ sexy macrame swimsuit — and putting Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale in gaudy period suits that were so bad they were good.

Patricia Norris, who says she took the job in part because she’d never worked on a period film set in the 1800s, created costumes for more than 100 actors with speaking parts in 12 Years a Slave. Today’s nod brings the 82 year-old Norris’ career Oscar nominations count to six — will this be the year she finally wins one?

Like many of the other categories, there were a couple of surprises and a few snubs. READ FULL STORY

'Face Off' exit Q&A;: 'I never saw it coming'

“This is going to be a season of extremes,” announced host McKenzie Westmore on Face Off‘s premiere episode, where viewers got their first look at this season’s competitors. From Rashaad Santiago, a self-taught artist who currently supports his family by working at a fast food restaurant, to Tyler Green, who quit his job as a dental lab technician to compete, the season is chock full of contestants who are in it to win it.

After brief introductions, we watched the group get down to business for their first Foundation Challenge. The artists were instructed to create an extreme character that represented them. The only catch was that they had to incorporate one of the over-the-top wigs on display. The winner would receive immunity and be safe from the first week of elimination.

Academy Award winning make-up artist Tami Lane (Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) guest judged the challenge. “In order to create a cohesive character, you have to have good make-up as well as good hair. They both work together,” she advised. “You will destroy a character if the make-up is bad and the hair or great or vice versa.” No arguments there. Two hours later, she named Bethany Serpico and George Schminky her two favorites; though ultimately only Schminky was granted immunity for creating an unexpected prosthetic chest.

Next the group was whisked off to a castle where they were presented with a Beauty & the Beast inspired Spotlight Challenge. Teams of two were assigned by Westmore. Schminky, the odd man out, joined a duo of his choosing. Meanwhile, writer/producer/director Stephen Sommers (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Mummy franchise) joined as guest judge and advised the artists to create a beast that was both scary and sexy, “so that when Belle kisses him at the end, we can’t be repulsed.”

Things began smoothly, but on day two the contestants ran into various molding issues and minor tension filled the air. Rashad Santiago and Chloe Sens chipped slowly away at their stuck mold while Tess Laeh fought back tears after experiencing her own molding setback with partner Niko Gonzalez.

Elimination day eventually arrived. Everyone frantically put the finishing touches on their creations and then waited patiently for the judges’ feedback.

The verdict? Santiago and Sens’ creation was the judges’ top pick–with Sens singled out for her detailed sculpture, one of the most complex first week make-ups the judges said they’d ever seen.

Conversely, Bethany Serpico and Tyler Green landed in the bottom alongside Margaret Caragan and Matthew Silva. Though only one contestant would be sent home… Ultimately Caragan found herself on the chopping block for creating a make-up that–the judges said–wasn’t sexy or scary and lacked detail with a bland paint scheme. Caragan looked stoic, but faced the facts.

EW caught up with Caragan about what it was like being a part of the show, what she would have done differently in her challenge, and what she’s been working on since filming wrapped.
