'The Vampire Diaries': What's the most memorable death from season 2? -- POLL

The Vampire Diaries‘ upcoming 100th episode centers on our favorite evil vixen in what could be her final moments. After Katherine Pierce had a heart attack and fell down the Salvatores’ stairs in the mid-season finale, we’re scared that it might finally be time to say goodbye to the woman who once loved both Salvatore brothers but never loved anyone more than herself. So to honor what could potentially be the most memorable death (or near-death) scene in season 5, we’re reliving similar moments from the past four seasons.

If Shailene Woodley's out, who should play Mary Jane Watson in 'Amazing Spider-Man 3'?

2014 will be a big year for Shailene Woodley, Hollywood’s new go-to lady for YA adaptations between the dystopian Divergent and the melancholy romance The Fault in Our Stars. But Woodley originally had a third major role this year, playing ginger galpal Mary Jane Watson in this summer’s Amazing Spider-Man rebootquel. Photos of Woodley on the set showed the young actress rocking some denim jackets and some unconvincing red hair — because no redhaired superhero girlfriend will ever have convincing red hair, and we can all just accept that and move on. But the filmmakers pulled a Paquin before it was cool, cutting Woodley out of the movie, presumably because they needed more time to service current love interest Gwen Stacy, not to mention all the villains from all the spinoffs.

Speaking to MTV’s Josh Horowitz at Sundance, Woodley admitted that she didn’t really know what her future was with the Amazing franchise, but she seemed ambivalent about the possibility of returning. “I don’t know anything,” she said. “But seeing as how they picked up the next two Divergent films, I don’t know how I would keep my sanity doing two big action films in one year. But anything can happen.” True, anything can happen — and if Divergent explodes, it’s possible that Sony would rejigger their ambitious Spidey schedule to make room for an ascendant superstar.

But let’s assume that doesn’t happen. And let’s also assume that that thing we all think is going to happen in Amazing Spider-Man 2 happens, and Mary Jane as a character becomes hugely important for Amazings 3 and 4. Who should take on the role of Peter Parker’s eventual one true love? Here are a few possibilities, ranked on the Dunst scale; post your own in the comments!

Bradley Cooper to star in 'The Elephant Man' on Broadway this fall -- EXCLUSIVE

If you’ve ever had the burning desire to see one of the hottest film stars of the moment bray, “I am not an animal!” you’re in luck. Bradley Cooper, who just received his second Oscar nomination in as many years for his fussy, conflicted G-man in David O. Russell’s American Hustle, will be returning to Broadway after an eight-year absence, the actor’s reps tell EW. (His last appearance was opposite Julia Roberts and Paul Rudd in 2006′s Three Days of Rain, for which he got very good notices.)

The red-hot actor will headline a revival of Bernard Pomerance’s The Elephant Man, playing John Merrick, the severely deformed, soulful figure memorably embodied on film in David Lynch’s 1980 film version by John Hurt. The play, unlike the film, has the leading actor suggest deformity through physicality without the aid of makeup or prosthetics, so you’ll get to see Cooper in all his golden-boy glory, just like in the large pic right here, which highlights Mr. Cooper’s 2012 performance in the play at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. This marks the second Broadway revival of Pomerance’s Tony-winning play, after a 2002 production starring Billy Crudup and Kate Burton, who were both nominated for Tonys for their work.

No word yet on whether Patricia Clarkson (who played Mrs. Kendal, the actress who befriends Merrick) or Alessandro Nivola (who played Dr. Treves, and also happens to costar in Hustle with Cooper) will rejoin People‘s former Sexiest Man Alive for the Broadway run, but further details are promised at a later date.

Jacqueline Bisset explains her viral Golden Globes speech to Queen Latifah -- VIDEO

queen-latifah-show.jpg

This year’s Golden Globes will be remembered for many things, from Tina and Amy’s triumphant return as hosts to teleprompter fails and a couple of very long walks to the stage.

One such walk early in the night led to one of the most memorable moments of the show, when Jacqueline Bisset won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for Starz’s Dancing on the Edge. Bisset was sitting toward the back of the ballroom inside the Beverly Hilton and took a while to get to the stage to accept the award, where the truly memorable and bizarre part began.

Bisset sat down with Queen Latifah on her daytime talk show to explain the moment, which Latifah called “one of the most authentic moments of the night.” Apparently, Bisset was told her award was being presented toward the end of the night, and after being on the red carpet for over two hours, she was tired, thirsty, and hungry. “I’m thinking about other things, vaguely listening to the show. I’m thinking, ‘Why the hell I didn’t get my dinner?’”

Nominated for Nothing: 'Rush'

Just about every year, brilliant movies are utterly ignored by the Oscars. The Searches, Groundhog Day, Breathless, King Kong, Casino Royale, Touch of Evil, Caddyshack, Mean Streets, The Big Lebowski, Shame — the Academy has a long history of overlooking comedies, action movies, horror flicks, hard-boiled genre pics, artsy foreign films, and documentaries that aren’t about World War II. This year, we’ll be taking a closer look at films that were too small, too weird, or perhaps simply too awesome for the Academy Awards. These are the Non-Nominees.

The Film: Rush, the true-life tale of Formula One drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda and their odd-couple rivalry, which burned up the Formula One world during the ’70s and to this day remains one of the great moments in Formula One history.

Why It Wasn’t Nominated: Formula What? The Academy doesn’t pay much attention to movies about sports that aren’t boxing, and Rush had a particularly difficult hill to climb, since the average voter probably doesn’t know about this very European story. Star Daniel Bruhl’s turn as the icy bucktoothed Lauda was a physical transformation comparable to past winners like Daniel Day-Lewis’ Lincoln or Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s Capote, but since Bruhl is a lesser-known actor playing a barely-known true-life person, he didn’t get the typical biopic bump. 'Life-Size' is getting a 'modern' update. Let's plan it!

Break out that 100-watt smile: Life-Size, the Lindsay Lohan/Tyra Banks-starring television movie, is getting a sequel. Wait, what?

Tyra Banks responded to a question about the reboot on Twitter over the weekend (rumors have been circulating since 2012), writing, “Tis true, Love” and then linking to a Digital Spy article in which she’s quoted as saying, “I have a meeting today to go over the script! I don’t think it’ll be out until probably 2015, but I’m guessing – it could be late 2014 or 2015. But it will be back – Life-Size will be back, better than ever…I’m under contract with Disney and I can’t talk about it at all, except that it’s coming. But it will be very different, very different. Very modern – a modern take.” (EW reached out to a rep for Disney, who didn’t return a request for comment.) READ FULL STORY

Michelle Obama shoots and scores during Miami Heat interview -- VIDEO

Michelle-Obama-the-Heat.jpg

The Miami Heat  may have to make room for a new player because evidently our very own First Lady has some skills. Michelle Obama had some of the Heat players over to the White House to record a PSA for Let’s Move, her organization that promotes healthy lifestyles for kids. In the video, Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen talk about how they like to hydrate and eat food (great tips, by the way) as Chris Bosh pops up behind them drinking a tall glass of water. But the real excitement comes when Obama makes a slam dunk in a portable hoop held by LeBron James. Check out the clip below: READ FULL STORY
