Eastern Florida State head golf coach Jamie Howell signed three Brevard County high school golfers to Letters of Intent for the fall 2015 semester on Friday.

Accepting scholarships were Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High graduate and current Eastern Florida student Alex Blue, Merritt Island resident Mickey DeMorat, who was home schooled and played for Merritt Island High, and Holy Trinity High senior Kerry Sweeney.

"It's been a while since we had a (local signing class) this deep," Howell said. "I'm looking forward to their arrival in August. It's always good to get local guys here. The community follows ours, it's only naturally. The interest increases that much more. People follow Kerry, Alex and Mickey. They're already familiar with them, they've already been introduced to the community and they feel an attachment to them. That gives us better exposure."

The trio will join what will be a deep Titans roster which could number 9 to 12 players with four returnees from the current team that begins its spring championship season with the Titan Winter Invitational Feb. 3-4 at Suntree Country Club.
