Recently uncovered video footage from Nirvana’s final gig in Los Angeles features the iconic band stripping it down for an unplugged version of the Vaselines’ “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam,” before plugging back in to deliver performances of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World,” and their own “All Apologies.”

Kurt Cobain dedicates the first song that appears on the 15-minute clip to actor River Phoenix, who had died of an overdose just two months prior to the show. The unplugged version of the song features the late frontman and Pat Smear on acoustic guitars, Krist Novoselic on accordion, Dave Grohl on bass, and Lori Goldston on the cello.
From there, the band follows up with performances of the “David Boo-wie” song and “Apologies.” The clip cuts to an end on a snippet of the band’s “On A Plain.”
The footage from Nirvana’s Dec. 30 concert at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., was recently uploaded by David Markey, who directed the documentary 1991: The Year Punk Broke. “I’m glad to have documented this show, as well as their pre-fame fun in 1991.” said Markey of the recently released clip.
Nirvana are also slated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, and Linda Ronstadt on April 10.
