Despite the controversy surrounding the release of Jay-Z’s holiday collection for Barneys New York, the rap mogul’s line of clothes and accessories for the upscale retailer raked in a lot of money.
The New York Daily News quotes a source close to Barneys, who claimed that while the numbers were still being tallied, “profits had exceeded the million-dollar mark.”
The launch of the “A New York Holiday” collection was overshadowed by accusations of discrimination when two black shoppers said they were racially profiled after making expensive purchases at the luxury department store.
