Al Neuharth died April 19, 2013, at the age of 89. He founded USA Today and Florida Today and made his home in Cocoa Beach. The former chairman and CEO of Gannett Co. Inc. also founded and was chairman of the international Freedom Forum, a foundation which promotes free press, free speech and free spirit around the world.
