'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant Evander Holyfield says homosexuality is disability -- VIDEO

Here we go again.

Boxer Evander Holyfield, who is currently on the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother, is in hot water for remarks he made on the program comparing homosexuality to a disability, saying both can be treated by a doctor. All together now: Ughhh.

Holyfield made the remarks on Sunday when reality star Luisa Zissman asked him if there were any gay boxers, according to TMZ. He responded that homosexuality is something doctors can fix.”That ain’t normal!” he says. “The Bible lets you know what’s wrong and what’s right.” He continued his “handicap” analogy: “If you were born, and your leg was turned this way, what do you do? Go to the doctor and get it fixed…The only thing I’m trying to tell you is you know how handicapped people, you can’t say because they’re born that way you can’t move that…Yes, it is a choice.”

When Zissman repeatedly told him he was wrong, and also that they shouldn’t even be having this conversation in the 24/7 camera house, Holyfield replied he was “just telling her my opinion.” While the content of what he’s saying is obviously offensive, the conversation between the two was fairly civil.

Here’s where things get interesting: Unlike on the most recent version of the U.S.’s Big Brother — which also made headlines for racist and homophobic remarks by many of the castmates — on the celebrity U.K. version, producers called out the negative remarks instead of just letting things play out without interference. Holyfield — who never apologizes –  was brought into a room and told by producers his comments were “inappropriate,” and they “aren’t the views that are held by a large section of society.” He was then given a warning to not say remarks like that again, but he continues to be on the show.

Mitt Romney accepts apology from MSNBC host who joked about his black grandson -- VIDEO

January’s first few weeks are the perfect time to let go of past slights and look forward to a bright new beginning. See, for example, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who said on the latest edition of Fox News Sunday that he had accepted an apology from Melissa Harris-Perry — the MSNBC host who poked fun at Romney’s adopted grandchild Kieran, who happens to be black.

Harris-Perry, who hosts an eponymous weekend news and opinion show on the liberal-leaning network, made the off-color joke last year — that is, a little over a week ago, on Dec. 29. During a segment titled “What’s So Funny About 2013,” Harris-Perry featured the Romney family’s Christmas card — which pictures the clan’s patriarch holding both Kieran and another grandchild.

What we learned from 'The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo'

Ahead of Juan Pablo meeting his hopefuls on Monday’s true premiere of The Bachelor, ABC gave us Countdown to Juan Pablo, a special taking us inside both casting and Juan Pablo’s family. Here are the takeaways:

•  Grown women still own hula hoops and think they’re sexy, as evidenced by the audition tapes.

• Chris Harrison arm wrestles with contestants during their interview with an intimidating number of Bachelor personnel clutching massive binders. (Well, at least he did with one. He appeared to lose.)

• Some women take their test confessional interviews literally: ”I actually was a virgin until about two weeks ago,” one revealed. READ FULL STORY

Get the most out of Jimmy Fallon's 'Best of Late Night' with our drinking game

How do you distill five years, gazillions of YouTube views, and countless celebrity games into a single two-hour special? Viewers will find out tonight at 9 p.m. ET, when NBC hands primetime over to impending Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

With only about seven weeks to go until Fallon finally inherits that franchise from once and current host Jay Leno, it’s the perfect time to reminisce about his Late Night‘s highest highlights… and to start speculating about how, exactly, Fallon plans to inject Tonight with the same sort of wide-eyed, internet-friendly humor he’s peddled at 12:36 for the past half-decade. Having seen the special in advance, I can assure you that it features plenty of material sure to please avid Fallon fans — and, perhaps, to convince skeptics that he really is the right man for the Tonight gig as well. And when watching a compilation like this, you may also start to notice that certain patterns emerge — which is where the drinking game thing comes in.

So when 9 p.m. rolls around, sit back, relax, and crack open something cold — and if you’d like to make the viewing experience even more amusing, feel free to follow the rules laid out below. Obviously, PopWatch cautions you to celebrate responsibly — not everyone’s got the constitution of Betty White.

49ers vs. Packers: How cold was it?

49ERS-PACKERS.jpg

It’s one of the Coldest Games Ever Played: Coldpocalypse-Ball 2014: NFL on Ice! — Sunday’s Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49s NFC wild-card playoff game in Wisconsin amidst a “polar vortex” winter storm.

So how cold is it, exactly?

Glad you asked. It’s SO COLD that…

– Pre-game: Lambeau Field is supposed to be giving out free coffee and hot chocolate, along with 70,0000 hand warmers to fans.

– There are a lot of Christmas Story references in the pre-game. Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews says she feels like the little brother who can’t put his arms down because she has so many layers on, while the guys in the warm studio said they hope she’s not licking the goal post.

– Andrews reported that there are engine-powered heaters wrapped around the beer taps at the field to keep the beer flowing. That’s right: It’s so cold they’re actually heating the beer.

– Andrews helpfully demonstrates how cold it is by breathing: READ FULL STORY

'Veronica Mars' trailer: A closer look at the new faces, old friends... and Madison

Veronica-Mars-trailer.jpg

Ever since Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas put the Veronica Mars movie on Kickstarter last year, the fan reaction has been deafening. The duo set out to raise $2 million for the film and ended up with nearly triple that amount.

But what about the people who missed out on the three seasons of Veronica Mars in the first place? Will they need to binge-watch before the movie hits theaters on March 14, or can they go in blind and just enjoy the standalone story?

Thomas told Kickstarter backers in an October email that he was very encouraged by the reaction from non-VM fans at the film’s first test screening, and the brand-new trailer that arrived Thursday seems to have a good balance of inside jokes and crowd-pleasing action/suspense. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the TV show who needs a refresher (it has been seven years) or a newbie who doesn’t know Don Lamb from Dan Lamb, here is a closer look at all the non-Veronica faces that pop up in the trailer, in order of appearance:

Lucasfilm, Marvel partner for new 'Star Wars' comics

After more than 20 years, the force is with Marvel once again.

Disney announced Friday that two of its subsidiaries — Lucasfilm and Marvel Entertainment — are working together on a series of new Star Wars comic books.

The brand’s first comics were originally published by Marvel in the ’70s, back before both companies had been acquired by Disney. In 1991, the license for the comics was purchased by Dark Horse, which has published the titles ever since. Now the rights have returned to Marvel, which plans to release its first new-new Star Wars comics and graphic novels in 2015.

Perhaps uncoincidentally, 2015 is also the year that J.J. Abrams’ yet-untitled Star Wars film is scheduled to hit theaters.

Kate Winslet won't name new baby Bear Rocknroll, will stand up to her critics

I’m sorry to say that this post will begin with some disappointing news: Kate Winslet’s third son, her first with third husband Ned Rocknroll (yes, for real that’s what he calls himself), will not bear the glorious Rocknroll family name. (He will, however, continue to bear the glorious first name Bear.)

“We haven’t ever really had that conversation; [the child] was always going to have my name,” the Oscar winner tells Glamour UK in a candid new interview. Winslet’s other children, Mia and Joe, already have “Winslet” as part of their names, she continued, “so it would be weird if this baby didn’t. Of course we’re not going to call it Rocknroll. People might judge all they like, but I’m a f—ing grown-up.”

Yowza! And that’s not all Kate had to say about any folks out there who may be judging her — for marrying a dude named Ned Rocknroll, for having three children with three different fathers, or for winning an Oscar for a Holocaust movie just four years after mocking that very notion on a hilarious episode of Extras. Actually, maybe scrap that last bit.
