Florida’s unemployment rate dropped from a seasonally adjusted rate of 6.8 percent in September to 6.7 percent statewide in October. The unemployment rate dropped 1.5 points over the last year and was the lowest since August 2008.

DISH Shutting Down Company-Owned Blockbuster Video Stores & DVD By Mail

DISH Network announced Wednesday morning that it will close the remaining 300 company-owned Blockbuster Rental stores and end the Blockbuster DVD-by-mail distribution service.

World’s Largest Passenger Plane Arrives At MIA

The largest passenger airliner in the world is coming to Miami. Lufthansa has announced that it will be the first airline to offer scheduled Airbus A380 service to Miami with daily flights between Frankfurt and Miami beginning June 10, 2011.

Japanese Robot Craze

Back in the 1970s, it was easy for the “Six Million Dollar Man,” Steve Austin, to spot a robotic person — or a fembot as the hip sci-fi show called them. In 2010, Japanese robotics makers have taken careful notes and are creating some of the most life-like robots ever — so life-like they can even be used for medical training. It seems the future is indeed now.
