Editorial Reviews

His current chart-running single Drinks After Work may be wetting the whistle of music fans, but Toby Keith is springing for a dozen more rounds with the October 29 release of his latest album.

Available in 10-track standard and 13-track deluxe editions, Drinks After Work again finds Keith serving as sole producer and principle songwriter with credit on nine of 10 tracks. Longtime collaborators Scotty Emerick, Bobby Pinson and Rivers Rutherford return as co-writers on multiple songs.

Beyond the title track and nine other cuts (listed below), the deluxe addition also includes "Call A Marine," Margaritaville (featuring Sammy Hagar) and Chuckie's Gone. The latter is a tribute to Toby's bandleader Chuck Goff, who died unexpectedly earlier this year. Goff is also remembered in the liner notes:

This album is dedicated in memory of Chuck Goff, our longtime bandleader-bass player. He will live on forever in our thoughts and in our performances. We miss ya, Shmudlo.

Toby Keith is one of the most consistent recording artists and touring draws of his era and continually ranking as one of the genre's top grossing live performers. Forbes ranked him as the top-earning country artist of 2012

3.0 out of 5 stars Toby's Latest October 29, 2013
By D. King
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was really looking forward to this album. After the magnificent "Hope On The Rocks" I was pumped. I have all of it's tracks, except that awful rendition of Red Solo Cup, on my Toby Playlist. I have 19 of Toby's albums and all but a couple of them are great. (Don't ever buy his Christmas albums!) Right away, Margaritaville is terrible! Listen to it and you will see what I mean. Last Living Cowboy is good and the rest are passable. I was unable to make the two bonus tracks transfer to my MP3 player so haven't heard them yet. All in all you won't hate it if you love Toby like I do but he is so talented and capable of so much more. If you don't have "Hope on the Rocks" get it - you won't be sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another super album for Toby Keith November 2, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just love Toby Keith's music. This was my first MP3 album purchase and it didn't disappoint. His songs are mostly fun songs that the everyday person can relate to and enjoy. Who wants to listen to sad, boring, makes no sense at all, songs - not me. Give me "Red Solo Cup", "Trailerhood", "I Love This Bar" (one of my all time favorites), any day of the week. Thanks Toby -keep em coming!!

Another great album by Toby Keith. Shut Up and Hold On is good. Before WE Knew They Were Good and Call A Marine are the best tracks.
