Addressing the meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) here on Tuesday, the prime minister said Pakistan was generating 45 percent power from furnace oil which was very expensive.

He said that his government wanted to move low cost electricity generation projects forward in a transparent manner.

PM Nawaz Sharif said restructuring of power tariff is an important part of National Energy Policy, adding that subsidy would be given to consumers of 200 units only.

The prime minister further said that by improving our current system, we could save 1400 MW power.
