Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, introduces the iPad mini in San Jose. The new tablet, half the size of Apple's iPad, will compete with Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire. The iPad mini, which can be held in one hand, has a 20cm display, weighs 0.3kg and is 7.2mm thick. Prices will start at $329 (£269 in the UK)
