Former professional boxer and current MMA competitor Holly Holm will look to continue her undefeated start to her new career after it was announced by Ariel Helwani, via Twitter, that the undefeated thirty-one year old will take on Erica Paes (2-2) at the upcoming Legacy 24 event on October 11th. It was also stated by Legacy FC that over forty fighters turned down the bout with Holm, prior to Paes accepting the fight.

Holly ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ Holm made her her Legacy debut back at Legacy 21 in July, 2013, scoring a victory over Allana Jones (2-3) with a highlight reel second round knockout, which you can see here.

Holly, who trains in Albuquerque under the tutelage of Mike Winkeljohn at Jacksons MMA,  compiled a 32-2-3 record as a professional boxer and captured eighteen titles before making the full transition to MMA, where she has already gone 4-0, finishing all of her opponents by (T)KO during the run. She’ll now be looking to extend her unbeaten streak to five when she takes on Erica Paes in October.

Erica Paes, while relatively inexperienced in her MMA career with only four fights in eight years, holds the honour of being the only person to defeat Cris Cyborg (12-1 (1nc)), after she submitted the twenty-eight year old back in May, 2005, with a kneebar in the first round.

After dropping her next bout, Paes took eight years away from the sport before returning in 2013, after training with MMA legend Anderson Silva (33-5), going 1-1 in her last two bouts.

The event is expected to take place at the Allen Event Center in Dallas, Texas and will be headlined by former UFC competitor Damacio Page (16-8) taking on Ryan Benoit (6-1) in the bantamweight division.
