For most people, pursuing a medical education is a decision years in the making. It’s an effort that starts long before a school is applied to, with years spent studying, testing and dreaming of a career that will change and save lives.

Excellence and achievement are chief qualities among the students accepted to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. But there is more to Johns Hopkins students than academic success. We strive to attract not only the best and the brightest, but also the most diverse, passionate, visionary and motivated minds.

Our students are more than future physicians. They are also former Olympic athletes, ballroom dancers, classical musicians, published authors and artists. They span the globe, coming from places as nearby as inner-city Baltimore to places as far away as Nigeria, Russia and India.
