Original CSI cast member George Eads will miss at least portion of the crime series’ upcoming 14th season over a personnel issue. It is understood that Eads got into an altercation with a pregnant writer on the show over what was described as creative issues. “George Eads will not appear in several episodes during the first half of the season,” CSI producer CBS TV Studios said in a statement. “We look forward to him returning to CSI very soon.” It is unclear when Eads, who is under contract, will rejoin the show. Last year, another regular on a CBS/CBS TV Studios drama, Jennifer Esposito of Blue Bloods, was put on a temporary leave and never returned. For Eads, this is the second time off CSI after he was briefly fired over salary demands during 2004 renegotiations.

TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.
wow! a pregnant writer? George!!!!
Did he touch her belly without asking? They hate that.
From reading your article Nellie-this doesn’t sound good at all.I mean,I’ll reserve judgement until more details are revealed, but,I just hope it wasn’t something where he got physical with the pregnant writer.Again,I’ll reserve judgement, but,if it was anything of that nature-let the guy go.That type of behavior cannot be tolerated on-set.
Wow. Beating up a pregnant woman. A real class act.
Read it again. “Altercation.” There’s nothing in it that says about beating up.
But I agree with Peace & Love. I’ll reserve judgment too until more details are revealed. Just sad this is happening with them. Las Vegas has been my favorite CSI team.
Seriously?? I do not believe she was beaten at all. I believe it may have been a heated argument…Pregnant woman that are so fragile that they cannot handle a disagreement should be on pregnancy leave…This show is Nick and as far as his acting..14 years is not a bad run…I look forward to seeing him back or will give up the show.
What relevance does the writer being pregnant have to this story?
This is the classiest thing I have ever heard and I can’t wait to hire this guy when CSI is over. #sarcasm #whatatool #ingrate #saveyourmoney
Adults should never use hashtags. If you say it right, you won’t need to explain it.
Can’t argue with a pregnant lady. They’re always right. Man, I hope it wasn’t anything too serious.
The fact that Nellie specified that the writer is pregnant makes me suspect that his behavior had to have been especially egregious.
I think so too, Alison. It’s one thing to have a difference with a co-worker and air out your differences in a calm, cool, and collected manner, or take it farther up the chain to be resolved. It’s another to get vicious, nasty, name call, and worse, place your hands on someone in a threatening manner. If he has done the latter of the two, his goose is cooked. You don’t ever argue in a threatening way with a co-worker, especially a pregnant one. Those are grounds for automatic firing and make finding that next job all the difficult once established on your record. Depending on the severity of the dispute, she could have grounds for assault charges, although I doubt it since she didn’t do it from the beginning. Such a shame. CSI is still a great show. Hope he can get back to work soon.
He needs to be signed on as Hal Jordan in WB’s Justice League anyways.
As if anyone would miss him. Haven’t seen this bad an actor since benjiman brat.
Makes us laugh when someone makes a comment about how well actors act. Hey Scott, can you act? What’ve you done, are doing that’s better? Duh.
it makes me laugh when someone makes a comment about how people who don’t do some specific task cannot criticize those who do on their merits.
so i suppose we should stop criticizing everything, right? peer review, 100%! i mean if movie reviewers don’t make movies, and music critics dont make albums they should be all fired, right?
no one should be allowed to call anything or anyone bad or lacking in anyway unless they themselves do that exact thing! let’s shut down all forums because that’s what they’re for, the evil lil things.
He is best part of CSI. Original cast member. It will be sad if he will leave. I only wish he would not let himself go so much. Ge gets bigger and bigger every season. And he is such handsome man. I remember him since he was in Savannah.
Sounds like a cool guy going after a pregnant woman!
Me likey! Put it on Cinemax and you’ve got me!
No one should have to put up with this creep’s abuse. Dump him. He is not important to the series.
pregnancy makes you fat and moody
everybody knows that
sounds like she got in his way and then took it personally when he moved her
she should try acting for minutes at a time over the course of a whole day
that ain’t easy
Maybe you should try being pregnant for a whole day and see how easy that is, you tool.
It doesn’t “sound like” anything other than what was written in this post, so until more details are known about what happened, keep your misogynistic assumptions to yourself.
Pretty sure Chip was being funny.
sounds like you invented a entirely baseless story off of one adjective.
everybody knows that.
you should try thinking for a second and perhaps waiting for at least 1 single detail before jumping off on such a wild conjecture.
obviously, for you… that ain’t easy
I had no idea that CSI was still in production.
Wow, you guys have him beating up pregnant chicks when it could’ve been nothing more than an argument. Anything you say (especially in the workplace) can be held against and be grounds for dismissal. If it was violent he’d be in jail.
You don’t get a multi-episode suspension for a disagreement. He’s done something inappropriate. It would’ve been in front of plenty of witnesses. Even if he didn’t lay a hand on her, there are ways to be angry and intimidating in a way that could put your job in jeopardy. I bet with a heavily pregnant woman, others stepped in to try to support her out of concern and it turned into a bigger situation that could affect crew morale if he were to continue on unchecked at work. The fact that the showrunner got involved and the situation didn’t calm down to everyone going back to their business with a handshake says he needed to be removed from the set for awhile.
Cancel CSI already, it’s over.
Writers have to be on set at CSI?
Ouch.
She’s 8 months pregnant. He argued with her about the direction his character was going. Note to actors and actresses – you have no control over what direction your characters go. Your job is to memorize your lines and hit your marks and don’t trip over the furniture. That’s all. And they are not your characters. They belong to the writers and producers who either created the characters on paper or are responsible for writing what happens to the characters.
So unless you are the lead in your series and are essential to the show you have no leverage and you should stop arguing. If you have something productive to contribute go to the showrunner and ask to be allowed to give input to the story arc for your character.
If he yelled at her and lost his temper which is what this sounds like he’ll be back. If he shoved her or slapped her then he’s never coming back and they don’t want to announce that just yet until CBS legal affairs tells them they can announce that he’s gone from the series.
I should have read the story more closely. It does say on-set altercation. My bad.
By using the word “altercation,” that sounds more serious than just an argument.
I hadn’t seen CSI in a few years — then tuned in not long ago. SOmething is def up with this dude. His entire body image is drastically different along with his speech. It was kinda shocking – go put on an early season ep then compare. Dude’s face is all swelled up, glassy eyes, slower speech. What up Eads?
This doesn’t sound good at all. And, seriously, CSI is in a real bind here. Where else in LA are they going to find a handsome, square-jawed man with a six-pack who wants to be an actor?
It’s gonna be tough.
unfortunately his is the best character left on the show since sara has become a cartoon and and greg ‘hears’ dead people. that and the bland new characters (and complete waste of good actors, imo) have left me no choice but to abandon the show i once loved…
This really tells us nothing. Other than it must of been serious for them to feel the only way to handle it was to suspend him. I will reserve judgement for now.
Do you mean CSI LV is still on? I stopped watching several years ago when it stopped being about CSI and more about whatever agenda the writers/producers were pushing that week. Plus recycling old TV stars who are overdue for retirement.
