Tara Setmayer, Communications Director for House Rep Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), is leaving her Capitol Hill post for an on-air gig with Glenn Beck‘s Blaze network, Politico reports. The former media commentator and political consultant will co-anchor BlazeTV‘s Real News program. Setmayer’s TV punditry resume includes guest commentary on Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor, The Sean Hannity Show, Fox and Friends, ABC’s 20/20, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Anderson Cooper, C-SPAN, and Beck’s own The Glenn Beck Program.

Glenn Beck & Vince Vaughn Join For Online Reality Series ‘Pursuit Of The Truth’

Glenn Beck and Vince Vaughn are going into the reality TV business together. The former Fox News host and the actor-producer will be executive producers of Pursuit Of The Truth, a competition series for Beck’s online network TheBlaze. Beck announced the deal on his radio show today. “That should make everybody’s head spin. What the hell is Vince Vaughn doing with a crazy man? I know, that’s what my friends say. Glenn, what are you doing with the crazy man Vince Vaughn,” said the host. TheBlaze, Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show Prods and Go Go Lucky Entertainment will produce the show, which will see 20 contestants fight for the prize of financing and global distribution for their documentary feature. “Our goal is to create a powerful annual platform to help filmmakers tell important and engaging stories,” said Wild West’s Peter Billingsley. The series is currently taking applications online until January 31. Go Go will lead the production of the nine-episode Truth, and producers say the series will debut on TheBlaze in spring 2013. Clear Channel Renews Support For Glenn Beck As He Plans Animated Comedy Series

The big news here is that the radio giant’s Premiere Networks will continue to syndicate Beck’s radio show, and extend its relationship handling ad sales for the former Fox News pundit’s digital properties. The five-year deal should deliver $100M to Beck according to The New York Times, which was pre-briefed on the terms. But the most intriguing part of the announcement is at the end: Beck’s live-streamed video network, GBTV, has a deal with animation production company Icebox “to jointly develop an animated comedy series.” Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, the ball’s in your court.

LOS ANGELES, June 11, 2012 – Premiere Networks, the leading audio content provider in the country, and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s multi-media production company, announced today that they are renewing and extending their agreements to syndicate The Glenn Beck Program, America’s third-highest-rated radio show. The Glenn Beck Program has grown tremendously since their last agreement. At the end of his show today, Glenn Beck addressed his pending departure as Fox News talk show host. “When I took this job, I didn’t take it because it was going to be a career for me,” Beck said. “Paul Revere did not get up on the horse and say, ‘I’m going to do this for the rest of my life.’ He didn’t do it. After months of speculation about Glenn Beck’s future at Fox News, the cable news channel today announced that the controversial host will exit his eponymous daily talk show later this year.

After the end of his high-profile gig as a daily talk show host, Beck will keep some presence at Fox News.
