26 August 2013 7:38 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

The Material Girl isn’t going to be short on materials anytime soon.

Madonna has been named the highest paid celebrity of 2013 by Forbes, which reports that the pop star brought in $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013. Not even an album flop can keep this woman down.

Behind Madonna is the king of movies, Steven Spielberg, with $100 million, the king of reality singing competitions, Simon Cowell, with $95 million, and the queen who gave us the red room of pain, E.L. James, also with $95 million. Rounding out the top five is Howard Stern — the king of awkwardness? — with the ever-popular intake of $95 million. »

Bryan Cranston Reportedly Cast as Lex Luthor in Man of Steel Sequel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks Ben Affleck as Batman

20 hours ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Something tells us this bit of casting news won't get much backlash. It seems Bryan Cranston may have nabbed quite the role in the planned Man of Steel sequel—none other than that of Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor. According to Cosmic Book News, the Breaking Bad star has not only landed the part, but the deal could find him appearing in at least six films (and as many as 10) as the villian. No other specific details were given, but the site reports that Warner Bros. is apparently waiting for the Sept. 29 series finale of Breaking Bad to air before making a formal announcement. Meanwhile, at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, The Dark Knight Rises star Joseph Gordon-Levitt »

Where in the World Will the New ‘Star Wars’ Films Shoot?

18 hours ago | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

When director J.J. Abrams yells “Action!” on the first new “Star Wars” film in almost a decade, it will be on a location or soundstage far, far from Abrams’ home base of Los Angeles, where his Bad Robot production outfit is headquartered.

Abrams’ Bad Robot partner and “Star Wars: Episode 7” producer Bryan Burk confirms the latest entry in the famed series will shoot abroad, principally based at the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios.

Burk maintains that the producers had been obsessed with trying to figure out a plan to keep the “Star Wars” shoot local, and gushes over the experience Bad Robot had shooting “Super 8” and the past two “Star Trek” films in California.

“We had wonderful experiences everywhere we shot and L.A. is our home,” Burk says. He also laments that “like all producers, we factor in crews, studios and the best place to recoup incentives that are available. »

The cast-contingent order is for a 60-minute pilot following "the journey of a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race." Girls just want to have fun, but if you ask Cyndi Lauper, there is indeed a limit when it comes to Miley Cyrus. In a radio interview with Australia's Brig & Lehmo on Gold 104.3, the '80s superstar slammed the former Hannah Montana for her racy performance at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards. "That was girl gone wild. So sad, so sad," Lauper told the radio hosts when asked about Cyrus' bumping and grinding as the latter joined forces with Robin Thicke for a medley of their hits, "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines." The 60-year-old Grammy winner, who recently earned a Tony for scoring the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, said she was disturbed by the musical »

NBCU's Peacock Productions Denies Improperly Blocking Unionization

NBCUniversal's Peacock Productions says it hasn't done anything wrong in its dispute with the Writers Guild of America East over whether its employees can unionize. Selena Gomez, Ethan Hawke in ‘Stuntman’s Dream Come True’

43 minutes ago | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The need for speed dominated the Aug. 26 premiere of Warner Bros. ”Getaway” with a black Shelby Cobra parked outside the Regency in Westwood Village.

“What is more American than a Shelby Cobra?” mused director Courtney Solomon during the post-screening bash at the W Hotel. ”For me, it was no contest. It’s a very durable car, which is what we needed.”

The 88 -day shoot, starring Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez, took place mostly in Sofia, Bulgaria, and used 130 cars with only one injury. The film contains an astounding 6,100 edits – four times more than normal — with about 60% devoted to car chases.

“This was a stuntman’s dream come true,” Solomon admitted.

Producer Allan Zeman said he came on board to back the film for a simple reason: “The popularity of Nascar is worldwide.”

Screenwriters Gregg Maxwell Parker and Sean Finegan concocted the script from the European underground racing fad, highlighted by »

Topless Radio Host's Interview With Mayor Goes Viral (Video)

The mayor of Kelowna, Canada, Walter Gray, is probably used to getting an earful -- as most politicians are. But he is likely not used to getting as much of an eyeful as he got during a recent interview with Canadian "On the Rocks" radio host Lori Welbourne. During a recent conversation about the legality of women going topless in Kelowna (it's legal where men can go shirtless), Welbourne removed her blouse in front of the mayor, exposing her bare chest. Kristen Stewart Shows Off Edgy Tattoo on Sils Maria Set—See the Pic

51 minutes ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Kristen Stewart's character in Sils Maria doesn't seem to be a big fan of color. The 23-year-old actress was snapped on set in Berlin, Germany, on Monday, Aug. 26, wearing head-to-toe black. She was also sporting some new (presumably temporary) ink on her arm. But, even though she did get her first tattoo in June, this body art appears to just be part of her character's edgy look. Stewart explained to Wwd that she plays "a personal assistant to an actress" in the drama. "It takes two very particular people to have that relationship be functional—one that services the other—because Juliette Binoche is playing the actress that I assist, and she is one of the most powerful women I »

Robin Thicke's New Video: Lots of Twerking but a More Innocent Dance Partner

52 minutes ago | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Robin Thicke, who famously grinded with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards, gets plenty salacious in his new "Give It 2 U" video as well. But the clip also features a more innocent dancer - his adorable 3-year-old son Julian. Thicke, 36, goes shirtless in the new video, which features lots of twerking by female dancers along with a foam finger - all reminiscent of his polarizing performance with Cyrus, 20, on Sunday. But Julian - Robin's son with wife Paula Patton - adds a welcome dose of cuteness by showing off his own dance moves in a little black suit, »

Miley Cyrus' VMAs Performance: 'Breaking Bad's' Hank and Marie Schrader Are Disgusted (Video)

As if finding out your brother-in-law was a meth dealing kingpin wasn't bad enough, Hank and Marie Schrader were forced to watch Miley Cyrus give Alan Thicke's son a lap dance. Like the Parents Television Council and much of Fox News' staff, the "Breaking Bad" couple were shocked - just shocked! - and disgusted by the "Hannah Montana" star's sexually suggestive MTV VMAs' performance. It was a calculated display of provocation that found Cyrus dancing in a skin-colored bathing suit and shaking her moneymaker with some dancing bears. See video: MTV VMAs: »

Orange Is the New Black Episode 12 Recap: All Dried Up With the Puff Blown Off

There’s only one episode left, and I still have no idea how this season will end. That seems to be the beauty of Netflix TV right now; when the writing and production schedules aren’t influenced by advertisers, you have the freedom to stop pandering to the lowest common denominator. But I digress. Piper is acting like a self-righteous douchebag again, so let’s get into it.Piper is definitely doing janitorial duty, and starts this episode by cleaning out the E Block bathrooms. Crazy women ripping doors off, scared straight kids getting pushed out of wheelchairs, threats, sex, detoxing — does all of the drama on this show take place in the bathroom? This episode keeps that train rolling. Piper sees Suzy while prepping to clean the bathroom; Suzy isn’t in trouble, but likes to clean when “the feelings inside get messy like dirt.” Sweet, troubled Suzy is »
