Edwin Encarnacion became the first major-league player to hit two home runs in one inning this season when he led off the seventh inning for the Blue Jays with a home run and then capped off Toronto's eight-run outburst with a grand slam. The only other player in Blue Jays history with a two-homer inning is Joe Carter, who went deep twice in the second inning of Toronto's final game of the 1993 season (October 3 at Baltimore).
