Representatives of the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board regularly participate in country visits intended to provide a direct exposure to the realities of the HIV epidemic in a given country as well as to inform subsequent discussions at Board meetings. Field visits are also an invaluable opportunity for the host country to bring together a range of stakeholders, open up new spaces for national dialogue and highlight key issues, challenges and best practices in the country’s AIDS response.
