Whistelblower break-in

Video surveillance from Fox affiliate KDFW shows alleged burglars of a Dallas law firm representing a State Department whistleblower.

THE law firm representing a US government whistleblower has been broken into, with the thieves pinching documents but leaving silver bars behind.

Thieves stole three computers and ransacked the firm's filing cabinets, but other valuables including silver bars and video equipment were left untouched. The firm, Schulman & Mathias, is representing a former State Department investigator Aurelia Fedenisn, whose allegations against the department and its contractors include solicitation of sexual favours from minors, sexual harassment and illicit drug use.

Investigators say the Asiana Airlines jet that crashed was below its target speed on approach to the runway.

Meanwhile, Asiana Airlines has denied the inexperience of the pilot of the plane that crashed in San Francisco was to blame for the deadly accident, despite it being his first flight in control of a 777. Investigators have confirmed part of the plane was found in San Francisco Bay and are trying to ascertain why it was coming in to land at speeds much lower than it should have  been. Also, the two girls who died in the crash were best friends, relatives have said, as classmates remembered the students as friendly and talented.
