Kanye's Listening Party

New York — Kanye West says his new album is all about giving.

The multiplatinum rapper held a listening for "Yeezus" late Monday in New York City, where Beyonce was one of the few hundred attendees.

West said that his sixth effort will showcase his growth over the last two years and that "he had to learn about giving ... this whole process is all about giving."

"I feel like I know who I am," said West, who turned 36 on Saturday.

"Yeezus" is out June 18. It has a dark, moody vibe that expands beyond his last two solo efforts, 2010's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and 2008's "808s & Heartbreak." It's also a departure from his first three albums, which featured a plethora of radio hits.

West held the listening in the loading dock of Milk Studios in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. The room was dark as lights burst onto the walls to display »

'West Was My Slave Name, Yeezus Is My God Name'

Kanye West debuted "Yeezus," his sixth studio album, to a crowd of critics, fans and celebrities on Monday night at an event equal parts listening party and public art exhibition.

The festivities took place at Manhattan's Milk Studios, but rather than following the countless PR and fashion events that Mlik has hosted before, West instead chose the Meatpacking District building's loading dock. Attendees were let in one by one, a slow process that would have led one to believe that only a select few were being given the privilege of the record. That was not the case: The venue was open to the street, so anyone within earshot could hear the album which had hitherto been shrouded in secrecy, and anyone within eyesight could see the basic video imagery that went along with the audio.

That's in keeping with West's public -- and global -- debut of "New Slaves," but »

'Man Of Steel' Already Getting Sequel

"Man of Steel" opens on June 14, but Warner Bros. is already looking toward the next Superman adventure.

Deadline.com editor-in-chief Nikki Finke reports that a sequel to "Man of Steel" has been put into motion, with director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer set to return in those capacities for part two. Expect Superman himself, Henry Cavill, to don the red cape in "Man of Steel 2" as well.

"How Hollywood works with these kind of things is that when you are doing a screen test, you will sign a contract saying, 'Ok, yes, I'll do the movie if you guys want me,'" Cavill told HuffPost Entertainment in a recent interview. "And, in that, it's standard procedure to do two options beyond the movie."

The existence of "Man of Steel 2" is hardly surprising to anyone who has been paying attention. (The sequel was first reported on three months ago. »

A Pride Tribute To The World's Greatest Gay Icon

In what is becoming a New York tradition, the legacy of Judy Garland will be celebrated with an evening of eclectic performances honoring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) youth.

Now in its third year, "Night of A Thousand Judys" will feature Broadway's Carolee Carmello and Christiane Noll along with Manhattan cabaret stars Justin Vivian Bond and Molly Pope. Also making their "Judy" debut in 2013 are "Glee" Warbler Telly Leung, original Weather Girl Martha Wash and singer Madeleine Peyroux.

Acknowledging that the evening's set will comprise both classic tunes and lesser-known material from the Garland songbook, the participating artists were nonetheless tight-lipped about the specifics of their performances; last year's show featured nods to Garland's seminal 1961 Carnegie Hall concert as well as her starring roles in "Meet Me In St. Louis" and, of course, "The Wizard of Oz." Still, they nonetheless praised Garland as being more than just a stage »

Microsoft Teases Xbox One Games

Los Angeles (AP) — Microsoft has its head in the cloud with Xbox One.

The company focused on how cloud computing will make games for its next-generation Xbox One console more immersive during its Monday presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the gaming industry's annual trade show. Microsoft announced last week that the successor to the Xbox 360 must be connected to the Internet every 24 hours to operate, and the system would ideally always be online.

"The platform features and capabilities exclusive to Xbox One allow developers to push the boundaries of creativity and take gaming in completely new directions," Microsoft Vice President Phil Harrison told the crowd.

The upcoming console's cloud computing capabilities were demonstrated by fleshing out dense environments in third-person open-world games like the zombie-fighting sequel "Dead Rising 3" and cartoony shooter "Sunset Overdrive." The racing simulator "Forza MotorSport 5" introduced a feature called "drivatar," which mimics players' driving styles and »

'Scandal': Who's Your Mama, Olivia Pope?

We adore "Scandal," and we're not alone -- Vulture has given Shonda Rhimes' hit ABC drama not one but two huge honors: Most Improved Show and Most Delightfully Batshit Show of the Year.

Vulture caught up with star Guillermo Diaz to talk about going dark and being method to play hired gunman-turned-fixer Huck, and he admits he's with the fans being constantly surprised by the show's many crazy twists, turns and shocking reveals.

After the Season 2 finale's biggest cliffhanger reveal -- that (spoiler alert!) the head of B-613, the man we'd seen scheming against Olivia Pope all season long, is actually her father -- Diaz wonders who they'll cast to play her mother.

"Our show does a lot of flashbacks, so I'm excited to see if they do some flashbacks with Olivia and her B-613 dad, what their relationship was really like," Diaz said. "Imagine the mom. They haven't »

'American Idol' Names Nigel Lythgoe's Successor

New York -- One day after dismissing its longtime production pair, "American Idol" has a new executive producer.

Freemantle Media has named Per Blankens to head the troubled Fox singing competition. The company said Monday that he has been the showrunner for the Swedish edition of "Idol" for more than five years.

On Sunday, Fox had confirmed that Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick are leaving the show.

Their exit followed the departures of judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and original panelist Randy Jackson. Carey and Minaj joined this season, and their on-air bickering proved uncomfortable for viewers and contestants.

The fate of Keith Urban, the lone remaining member of the judging team, is uncertain.

The 12th season of "Idol" ended in May with a record low-rated finale. Its 13th season premieres in January. »

'Sopranos' Finale, Six Years Later

Six years ago, on June 10, 2007, "The Sopranos" ended its six-season run on HBO. Though it remains the cable network's most-watched show ever to this day, fans are still not happy about that controversial finale.

"The Sopranos" was never afraid to kill off main characters -- for a show about the inner-workings of the mob in New Jersey, they couldn't really avoid it -- but in the end, instead of sealing the fates of Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), his wife Carmela (Edie Falco) and their kids Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and Aj (Robert Iler), the show just cut to black.

Were any of the shifty-eyed patrons in the diner gonna whack the entire family? Did Meadow manage to make it through the door after that epically bad parallel parking job? And what song was up next on the jukebox after Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" was so rudely cut short?

'Fashion Police' Will Celebrate Joan Rivers' Birthday In Style

New York -- "I'm having a great time," Joan Rivers crows before offering a brisk self-appraisal: "Everything is working, my mind is fine.

"The only time I play the age card is on planes when I'm trying to put a bag above the seat: `I am 80 years old! Would someone Please help me?!'"

Actually, she only turned 80 on Saturday, a milestone that has prompted the E! network to stage a Joan Rivers "takeover": Its regular one-hour edition of "Fashion Police" (airing Friday at 10 p.m. Edt) will be a black-tie birthday salute, preceded nightly through Thursday by special half-hours (at 10:30 p.m. Edt) featuring guest appearances by celebrities and even victims of past fashion slams.

This means frequent-flier Rivers would soon be back on a plane for Los Angeles to tape this five-day marathon while she marvels at the success of "Fashion Police," which, since premiering three years ago, »

Most Apathetic Ping-Pong Player

Kim Karadashian is many things, from business mogul to the girlfriend of a self-proclaimed god, but it looks like she's no ping-pong player. Judging from a video she just posted to video-sharing site Keek, Kardashian may be one of the most apathetic ping-pongers ever to play the game. More bizarre is that she had the whole family gather to watch. (But at least we already knew that when it comes to ping pong, the outfit is everything.)

Amy Adams Sizzles On The Cover Of Interview Magazine

Amy Adams may be one of the most beautiful and well-respected women in Hollywood, but the actress feels a bit out of place when it comes to being in the spotlight.

The "Man of Steel" star, 38, covers Interview magazine's June/July issue with co-star Henry Cavill and opens up about the perils of fame and how she's adjusted to her celebrity lifestyle. Adams, who comes from a family of seven kids, says she's still uncomfortable with her own success.

"I always saw myself as more of a watcher, although I suppose my siblings might have a different viewpoint on it. Actually, one of my least favorite things about being even remotely recognizable is that I'm not allowed to watch in the same way anymore," she tells the magazine, continuing, "You know, you try not to hide from the world because you want to still participate and still be inspired by what's around you. »

Watch Stars Mock Their Canceled Shows At The Tonys

Many Broadway stars have made the transition to TV recently, but for the majority of them, it didn't exactly work out.

At Sunday night's 2013 Tony Awards, Andrew Rannells of the now-canceled "New Normal," Megan Hilty of the long-suffering "Smash" and Laura Benanti of the late comedy "Go On" took the opportunity to poke fun at their efforts on the small screen.

The trio teamed up with Tonys host and "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris to perform a musical number (above) lamenting the struggle of landing a gig on a network series and leaving the New York stage behind for La.

Rannells kicked things off with "I Want To Be On A TV Show," a spoof of "West Side Story's" "America." Then Hilty appeared, parodying "Gypsy's" “You Gotta Have a Gimmick." After she sang, "You gotta have a series if you want a shot at fame, »

The Most Popular HBO Show Since 'The Sopranos'

The "Game Of Thrones" Season 3 finale ratings are in, and they're spectacular.

The "Game Of Thrones" season finale brought in an average of 5.4 million viewers, a 28 percent increase from the Season 2 finale, which attracted 4.2 million viewers.

The finale was the second-most watched "Game Of Thrones" episode of the season, coming in 100,00 viewers behind the show's May 5 episode.

The strong finale numbers bring the "Thrones" season average -- including encore presentations, DVR, on-demand and streaming views on HBO Go -- to 13.2 million total viewers per episode. That moves "Thrones" past "True Blood" as HBO's most-watched show since the 2004 season of "The Sopranos," which did not have the benefit of online streams.

'Mistresses' Actress Sets The Record Sraight

While network television’s most popular shows go on hiatus until the fall, last week ABC premiered its latest drama series, “Mistresses.”

Starring Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Shannyn Sossamon, and Alyssa Milano, the provocative series, based on the UK television show of the same name, centers around the lives of four women as they weave through the complexities of their relationships in search of self-discovery.

During a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Aytes opened up on her role as April Malloy, a recently widowed parent, in addition to starring as Peri “Pebbles” Reid in the highly-anticipated TLC biopic, “Crazy, Sexy, Cool.”

Congratulations on your new series, “Mistresses.” How would you describe your character, April, in comparison to the other women on the show?

Out of the four girls she’s the naive one of the bunch. She’s always looking for the good in people, but she’s also the strongest in some ways. »

Watch: 'Downton Abbey' Meets Madonna In Hilarious New Music Video

If you roll your eyes when your friends suggest Another post-brunch "Downton Abbey" marathon, then you'll probably love the latest Funny or Die music video.

It seems that everyone on both sides of the Atlantic can't get enough of the upstairs downstairs drama featuring the Crowley household, but the video "Snore" calls out how the hit series can sometimes be less than... thrilling.

Set to the tune of Madonna's "Vogue," "Snore" is a gay love letter to the British period piece featuring Drew Droege (of Chloe fame) dressed as Shirley MacLaine, Michelle Vissage from "RuPaul's Drag Race," and many other gays and guys in drag as the "Downton" characters (look for a cameo from Nph's fiance, David Burtka).

So even if you have never seen an episode of the show, the next time your friends start talking about Maggie Smith over mimosas you'll at least be able to tolerate it »
