A is for automatic qualifier. Seven conference champions receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament: America East Conference, Big East Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Eastern College Athletic Coference, Ivy League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Patriot League.
