'The Voice' live blog: The top 6 take the stage

just now | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"The Voice" is ready to wrap up Season 4 , with the Top 6 taking the stage on Monday (June 3) to fight for America's vote. Each artist will take the stage twice tonight, with a song of their choosing and another selected by their superstar coach (Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Usher or Shakira). Only one artist is getting the boot tomorrow. Who will it be?

Holly Tucker: "When God Fearing Women Get The Blues" by Martina McBride

Blake wants to continue the streak of attitude that he had Holly tap into last week. During her performance, she sounds typically great, but the display of sass again feels a bit forced. It's going to continue to earn her votes, though. So, it's fine. The coaches all comment that it's been fun to see Holly come out of her shell throughout the competition, with Blake telling her it's his favorite of her performances all season. »

'Doctor Who': Could Matt Smith's replacement be Ben Daniels, David Harewood or Rory Kinnear?

just now | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

With Matt Smith officially on his way out after three seasons as "Doctor Who," speculation is running rampant as to who will land the coveted role of the Twelfth Doctor.

Theories range from the wacky (former companion Billie Piper!?) to the preposterous (Benedict Cumberbatch, who is a little busy making a ton of movies, not to mention "Sherlock"), but the frontrunners have narrowed down to a credible bunch.

Topping the list is "Law & Order UK" star Ben Daniels (pictured above, left), who at 48 years old would be a notable departure from recent younger Doctors including the youngest ever, Smith. Best known for his work in British TV (including "Cutting It," "The State Within" and "Merlin") and theater, Daniels also recently co-starred as Adam Galloway on Netflix's "House of Cards."

Daniels currently leads the odds by a large margin on UK betting site SkyBet.com and his name has quickly circulated »

'Secret Life of the American Teenager' series finale: Amy calls off the wedding

just now | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The "Secret Life of the American Teenager" finale starts off as mostly a series of flashbacks to key moments in the show's five-year run, while the current-day characters are getting ready for high school graduation.

For Amy, there are flashbacks detailing her relationships with Ricky and Ben, the pregnancy, the proposal, the fake wedding. For Grace, the flashbacks detail her romances, especially with Jack, and her guilt over her father's death, which, in one of the show's most hilarious plotlines, she thought at first was punishment for her losing her virginity.

Meanwhile, in present day Amy and Ricky are still planning on getting married (at first) and Ben clearly isn't dealing with it very well. As everyone says goodbye, Amy, Grace and Adrian share a group hug and then everybody has to walk through the big door at the end of the hall like they're all passing over to the »

'Deadliest Catch' exclusive video: A bang and blood sends the Time Bandit to shore

1 hour ago | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The good folks at Discovery Channel were kind enough to pass along to Zap2it fans this exclusive clip from Tuesday's (June 4) "Deadliest Catch" episode, showing the Bering Sea crab-fishing fleet enjoying audio of a Seattle Seahawks playoff game from January.

But when the crew of the F/V Time Bandit -- captained, for opilio-crab season, by Andy Hillstrand -- decides to celebrate in the usual way, something goes very wrong.

Watch:

Also, as "Deadliest" devotees know, Jake Anderson, a deckhand on the F/V Northwestern -- and the protege of its captain, Sig Hansen, who performed his wedding ceremony -- decided to seek advancement by moving over to the high-end fishing vessel Kiska Sea.

Anderson is still at sea, fishing (you'll have to keep watching to see on which boat), but he did have something to say on Twitter in May after his fight -- seen in the May »

California Film Tax Credit Selections Total 28 of 380 Applications

1 hour ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

A total of 28 productions have been selected to receive California’s Film and Television Tax Credit — the same number as was selected last year.

California producers submitted 380 applications for the state’s latest round of California’s Film and Television Tax Credit — up 18% from last year’s 327 submissions.

The California Film Commission, which administers the program, disclosed the numbers Monday after conducting a lottery to determine the 28 productions to be selected. After notifying the recipients, it will disclose the selections on Tuesday.

Past recipients of the credit include Oscar Best Picture winner “Argo,” “Gangster Squad,” Halle Berry indie feature “The Hive” and TV series “Body of Proof,” “Rizzoli & Isles” and “Pretty Little Liars.”

With only $100 million in credits available annually and features with budgets over $75 million not eligible, demand far exceeds supply with less than 10% of applications receiving the credit. And a significant amount of the $100 million is  already committed »

'Game of Thrones' Episode 9 Reaction Video

1 hour ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

I watch "Game of Thrones" every week with my ex-husband David Chute, who reviews the show for Toh! and has also read the George R.R. Martin tomes. I need him on hand to explain things to me. (Did Sam leave the special obsidian knife that kills white walkers behind on the ground?) None of David's warnings about big pivot happenings in this week's episode could possibly prepare me for the events that unfolded. A number of knowing videographers knew what was coming and taped their pals watching the show, with dramatic results, especially among the women. Don't watch if you haven't see Episode 9 yet. Chute's spoiler free review is here.

Update: 28 Projects Make First Cut In State’s $100M Production Tax Credit Lottery

1 hour ago | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Update, 5:22 Pm: The lottery is over and 28 projects were selected today for this year’s California’s $100 million Film and TV tax credit program. That’s even with the 28 projects that were initially approved on June 1, 2012 in last year’s lottery. The doors closed Monday at 3 Pm at the Film Commission’s office on Hollywood Boulevard with the last few applicants getting their submissions in under the wire. Soon afterwards, the random picking process began. A total of 380 projects were submitted between 9 Am and 3 Pm today before the deadline. That’s a record for the program since it was introduced in 2009. The previous high was the 322 projects submitted last year for 2012’s $100 million allocation. A Deputy State Fire Marshal actually picked tickets out of a cylinder built for just such a lottery purpose. Each ticket had an allocated number on it that each submitted project was given Monday. 'Game of Thrones' Season 3 finale preview: Stark banners burn and Theon's sister returns

1 hour ago | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

When the Red Wedding happened at the end of the "Game of Thrones" Season 3 episode "The Rains of Castamere," audiences didn't get to see how the rest of the world responded to that surprise betrayal. It seems as though those reactions will be a big part of the Season 3 finale, "Mhysa." In a promo for the upcoming episode, Tyrion says, "The Northerners will never forget" -- and hopefully they won't.

Beyond the Starks, there are plenty more storylines to tie up. King's Landing was a setting noticeably absent from "The Rains of Castamere," and Joffrey, Tyrion, Tywin, Cersei and Sansa all look to have roles to play in "Mhysa." So too does Daenerys, who has gathered her army and her dragons for what looks to be an attack. But why does she need to attack anyone if she's already conquered Qarth, Astapor and Yunkai? Then there's Stannis, who got the »
