Global Earthquake Search (Beta)

This beta search page is a utility for searching for global earthquakes. It is a temporary replacement for the previous global earthquake search which could no longer be maintained. The next release will provide intuitive, in depth input search parameters with varied output formats to meet broad user needs. This is not the final solution. This search form runs against the new Comprehensive Catalog (ComCat). ComCat currently contains data from networks contributing to the Advanced National Seismic System and historic data is from the USGS National Earthquake Information Center’s PDE catalog. This search currently contains data starting on January 1st, 1973 to the present.

This search form is limited to 20,000 results. If your search criteria returns more than 20,000 results, an error message will be displayed rather than the expected results. In this case, input parameters should be narrowed in order to successfully complete the search.

• Top Latitude Decimal degrees. Negative for southern latitudes. [-90,+90]
• Bottom Latitude Decimal degrees. Negative for southern latitudes. [-90,+90]
• Left Longitude Decimal degrees. Negative for western longitudes. [-180,+180]
• Right Longitude Decimal degrees. Negative for western longitudes. [-180,+180]
• Start Date Catalog starts 1973-01-01
• End Date Catalog ends 2013-06-07
