For his upcoming collaboration album Wrote a Song for Everyone, John Fogerty joined the Foo Fighters in their Los Angeles studio to record Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1969 anti-war anthem "Fortunate Son." At the studio, Fogerty hashes out that irresistible guitar lick while Dave Grohl, on rhythm guitar, helps him wail "It ain't me," a striking meeting of a rubric rocker and his amped apprentices. "It was palpable, the air," Fogerty says. "You could tell a band was in there. It was a unique group of people."

Out May 28th and produced by Fogerty, Wrote a Song for Everyone is an all-star celebration of Fogerty's inimitable songbook, from his days with CCR to his solo efforts since the band separated in 1972. The album features duets with Kid Rock, My Morning Jacket, Bob Seger, Allen Toussaint, Jennifer Hudson and many others, all of whom Fogerty insisted on recording with in person. To celebrate his birthday and the release of the album, Fogerty is hosting a special one-night-only show on May 28th at El Rey in Los Angeles. The performance will be captured with a live broadcast on AXS TV.
