Jesse Dee was born in 1980, but he has that classic bluesy voice that would have fit back in the 1940s - 1960s music industry much better. Take this first track from the Alligator album by the same name. Dee affects Sam Cooke's phrasing against a latin beat. You'd never have guessed that the piece originated from a 2013 album. It is like going to a doo wop tribute concert. At least Dee is known for writing his own lyrics, so the listener is assured that the soul and R&B; is not truly recycled, no matter how it appears to our ears.
