Creatorverse

Create or draw your own shapes, assign colors/properties (e.g. make it spin like a windmill), connect them together, and animate! That's essentially what this app does--it's like an easy-to-use, kid-friendly flash animator. However, instead of creating a fixed animation over a period of time (like those stick figure cartoons you probably made in Flash), you're customizing physical properties (gravity force, elasticity). There is a lot of potential, as this app is like a blank canvas; you can actually interact with your animation and create a functional game.

HOW TO USE:
-select a shape from the left, or draw your own.
-once you've created a shape, click on it; option will appear on the bottom, that show you different options for animation
-link shapes together (the 5th button on the left), select animation options for the links.
-press the "play" button on the bottom left to interact with your creation! Depending on what properties you assigned for the shapes, you can pick shapes up,

AGE: Not really meant for toddlers, it'd probably appropriate for kids ~5+ (as long as you guide them through yourself; words like "acceleration" would require explanation, but most is learned through experimentation). Younger kids would probably just like playing with random shapes--but for older kids, this could be a nice visual representation of basic physical properties. Definitely adult-friendly too--you can make some REALLY complex stuff! I've seen other users make things like a functional pinball machine game!

OVERALL COMMENTS:
There are infinite options for creativity here, but you are essentially animating stick-figure-type drawings--visually speaking, nothing too elaborate. You can play with, and edit, other users' creations too--which means this game can create a million games in itself, depending on the creativity of others. This would probably be best suited for a tablet, as a larger screen would be more desirable.

Teachers and parents always want their children to be creative, and this app is about as creative as it gets. Pick a shape (square, circle), put them together to make an object, or create your own (with the editor that lets you drag/cut/slick any shape/object you want). Once you create an object click on it for further customization effects:
*Flashing circles *Flash Polka Dots * Flashing arrows (like a fan, or like the arrows you see in putt putt that take your ball in a certain direction) *Clockwise circles *Flashing lines that zoom in and out

The free style editor allows you to write words (or sign your name), draw animals, cartoon characters, whatever your mind is creative enough to come up with. Once you have created your object, you can have it bounce around as an animated ball on the screen, you can drag the ball and interact with how you want it to bounce. Also, there is a social aspect to the game, you can share your designs with others, or view the "most liked", "most views", and "recent" creations of others. Some cool ideas that people have made include swing sets, dogs, helicopters, people, mazes, pinball machines, baseball fields and many, many more designs. If you want to, you can edit their designs and save them on your own device.

I've already sunk a few hours into this, and it's a lot of fun so far. I've made a bunch of whimsical creations as well as simulating an idea I had for a real-world gizmo. The sharing aspect is also very cool. I'd like to see some more advanced options for making things with precise sizes and positions, as well as an undo function. I have noticed a few intermittent crashes on my nexus 7, but the app saved my work so it wasn't a big deal.
