Commencement of the Intergovernmental Negotiation on the Revision of the Convention between Japan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital Gains

1. The Government of Japan will commence the intergovernmental negotiation with the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the Revision of the Convention between Japan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital Gains (entered into force in 2006).

2. The first negotiation will be convened from March12 to 13, 2013 in London.
