After nearly 40 years of hip-hop, the style requirements of the rapper have been upped exponentially. From the earliest pioneers, the role of rap dude has always meant being fluent in the jargon of floss and adept in the art of stunt. Through the decades, Afrofuturists and b-boys turned to grimy thugsters and gangsta pimps turned to shiny suits, sophisticated hipsters and skate park couture. Hip-hop has both defied and defined modern American style, so here we take a state-of-the-trill look at the 50 most notable purveyors of rap style. Why these dudes, you ask? ‘Cause we said so.

Why is french montana on this list? He dresses worse than a little kid. And why is lil wayne on this? He is has the corniest fashion sense of all the rappers. Also wiz khalifa? He mostly just dress as a normal teenager(exept sometimes fur like on that god awful cover you guys choose) and asap dresses like your average hypebeast. Overall this top 50 was pretty bad/semi awful

smfingh.. french has some decent style wiz and asap have some of the best steez out there right now. style is about making a statement and paving your own lane which they all do. you're right about wayne tho hahah straight bitch fashion

Wiz Khalifa is more stylish than Ghostface? Kid Cudi is more stylish than Mos Def? Oh, French Montana is more stylish than Raekwon? And A$AP Rocky, who dresses like a transvestite, is more stylish than Cam'Ron? Look Complex. Wiz Khalifa is not stylish. You can see that from his ONIFC cover. Kid Cudi has a sense of style, but he's not stylish. A$AP Rocky will never be stylish just because he namedrops Maison Martin Margiela and Rick Owens. French Montana has NO sense of style. Jesus Christ. That guy is the ugliest rapper in the world right now. Mos Def is stylish. Pharrell, at times, is stylish. Kanye is stylish. Slick Rick, BDK, Cam'Ron, Jay-Z, Biggie, Pac, Ghostface, they're stylish. They CREATE trends. They don't follow them. These other dudes you mentioned? Nah. @Pausetherocker Umm, so 14-year old's rocking a guy's style means you're stylish? No it doesn't. Mac Miller doesn't even have a STYLE. How can he be stylish.

@sam you obviously don't know shit about STYLE. It's not about looking right and wearing what people 'like' . Being stylish is about creativity and assembling different kinds of pieces , usual or unusual to create a dapper outfit. ASAP rocky is the most stylish man on this list. Pharell is probably the next and then KANYE WEST. I dont even see theophilus London.

im ok with this list except Drake and Kane being number one. But Cudi and andre need to be moved up a few to like 1 and 2 they are the vision of style, they dont care what everyone else is wearin they create they're own unique style
