Brain pathway linked to impulsive eating identified
New UGA research has identified the neural pathways in an insect brain tied to eating for pleasure, a discovery that sheds light on mirror impulsive eating pathways in the human brain. "If we understand how this compulsive eating behavior comes about, we maybe can devise a way ... to prevent it," said UGA's Ping Shen.

Parents and Families Association sponsoring reception
A UGA Parents and Families Association reception is planned for March 2 at noon at the Georgia Center followed by a men’s basketball game at 1:45 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum. Tickets are $10 per person for both events and are available online at http://t.uga.edu/av.
Men’s basketball team to play Tennessee
The men’s basketball team will take to the Stegeman Coliseum Court March 2 at 1:45 p.m. against the University of Tennessee. Tickets are $15, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
Celtic Crossroads to perform at Hodgson Hall
Celtic Crossroads will perform March 4 at 8 p.m. in Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall at the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $20-$42. Celtic Crossroads fuses traditional Irish music with Eastern European gypsy, American bluegrass, jazz and world music. The show incorporates seven world-class musicians who play more than 20 different instruments and high-kicking from some of Ireland's most respected dancers.
