The Division of Academic Enhancement (DAE) provides a wide range of services to help students achieve academic success.

DAE offers tutoring in many different subject areas. The Academic Resource Center, located in Milledge Hall, supports students seeking assistance with chemistry, mathematics, reading, writing, ESL, and counseling.

DAE’s Early Alert Program allows faculty and staff to easily connect students who have an academic problem to a wealth of on-campus resources and solutions as soon as the problem emerges. Early Alert often allows a student to receive help before the problem makes a significant impact on his or her overall academic career.  After a UGA faculty or staff member completes the Early Alert Form, an Academic Specialist will contact the student directly to provide help with academic problems. If the student is having problems that are not related to his or her academic career, the student will be directed to additional on-campus options and resources that will support his or her success at UGA. The Division’s Academic Specialist Team includes experienced faculty members, academic professionals, and doctoral students. Academic Specialists in the Division also serve students through the Division’s CARE program, which is designed specifically for students who have fallen short of their academic potential and expectations. The CARE program helps students make a strong academic recovery and supports their academic journey toward a timely graduation.

In addition, DAE offers introductory courses in English, mathematics, reading, and study strategies. DAE also houses the Freshman College Summer Experience and the TRiO federal grant programs, which are designed to support and motivate students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
