What is Horizon Wimba?

The Horizon Wimba Live Classroom, also known as Horizon Live, or Horizon Wimba, is a flexible, Web-based tool for conducting live online classes that can be archived and viewed at a later time. Content can include PowerPoint slides or any images, HTML-Based content, multimedia formats such as Flash, Shockwave, Real, and QuickTime, Adobe Acrobat PDF documents, and any other content that can be viewed in a Web browser. Presenters can prepare their content ahead of time or create new content "on-the-fly" using the eBoard tool.

Who Can Use It?

  • UGA Faculty / Staff can set up virtual classrooms for their classes. Individuals conducting the virtual class (professors, speakers, etc) are generally referred to as presenters.
  • Only UGA Students in these classes can access these virtual classrooms.

Accessing Horizon Wimba
