5 STEPS TO MENTAL WELLBEING

There are five steps we can all take to improve our mental wellbeing.

Connect.

Keep learning.

Be active.

Give to others.

And take notice.

Here are just a few examples of how people fit these steps

into their daily lives.

Connect.

Joining the local football team helped me meet people

and made me feel part of my community.

Keep learning.

I've just started learning to play a musical instrument

and as well as being really fun,

it's really rewarding when you get a new piece right.

Be active.

I've got two left feet, but I still enjoy dancing.

It energises me and it puts me in a good mood.

Give to others.

If I know a friend's having a hard time,

I'll make an effort to check up on them regularly and see how they are.

Take notice.

I find cooking so calming, as I'm totally focused on what I'm doing.

I switch off from the day's stresses

and it also allows me to express my creative side.

Lots of activities fulfil more than one of these five steps.
