New UGA program in Germany combines language study, sustainable development
This summer, the UGA department of Germanic and Slavic studies will launch a new study abroad program in Freiburg, Germany. The program will offer instruction in the German language and culture of environmentalism—including sustainable housing, transportation and energy production.

The Georgia Museum of Art will present the focused exhibition "Water Music" in its Alonzo and Vallye Dudley Gallery, dedicated to time-based media, beginning Feb. 2. Drawing from private collections and from the permanent GMOA collection, "Water Music" will bring together diverse visual perspectives on the theme of water and the idea of water music.
Gymnastics team to host Alabama
The UGA gymnastics team will compete against the University of Alabama Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children.
Concert to highlight Double Bass Symposium
A Double Bass Symposium concert is scheduled for Feb. 1 from 8-9:30 p.m. in Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall. The concert marks the beginning of the UGA Double Bass Symposium and will feature the Youth Symphony of Uruguay along with Hugh Hodgson School of Music professor Milton Masciadri and UGA alumnus Alexandre Ritter.
