"Why are certain films less than the sum of their appealing parts?" When film critics don't know when to throw in the towel and move on in life. Personally, I wish film critics would just go away. They serve no real useful purpose except the puffing up of their already inflated egos. Joe is no worse then every other online offline critic. It's just after years of watching movies, I find myself rarely agreeing with any one critic. Mostly because I've realized that movies are like food. Except for the occasional stinker, films are mostly absorbed through some sense of identification. If a film critic doesn't identify on some level with a film, he (or she) writes a bad review It doesn't mean the film is bad or good. It just means they didn't or did like it. Bottom line. I found "Road to Perdition" to be predicitable, contrived and badly photographed. And I could point out very good reasons. But, that's just my opinion. And whether or not I like a film, it's still just my opinion and my experience. Film critics....time to go home. Clock out. I'm done with you losers.
