Parking

Visitors Center parking

For access to the Visitors Center, visitors may park in the adjacent parking lot accessible directly from College Station Road. Visitors must obtain a parking permit from inside the center and display the permit in the dash of their vehicle. The parking lot connected to the Visitors Center lot via a traffic circle is UGA Lot E10. Parking in E10 is restricted to only university faculty and staff permit holders. In the event that the center's parking lot is full, additional visitor parking is available in the pay-per-hour East Campus Parking Deck [map] [rates].

Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and Honors parking

If you are attending an information session, the North Campus Parking Deck [map] [Google Maps] offers convenient parking for prospective students and their families. Enter through the parking deck’s main entrance off South Jackson Street. The deck is a pay facility [rates] and fees are charged by the hour.

In the event that the North Campus Parking Deck is full and closed to visitors, visitors may explore parking options downtown [map] [rates], which is where the Graduate School is located and is adjacent to the North Campus area in which the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Honors Program are located.

Other campus parking options

Multiple pay-per-hour parking decks [map] [Google Maps] [rates] are available throughout campus for visitors wishing to explore other areas of campus. The Visitors Center staff will be happy to direct visitors to an appropriate and convenient parking area near their destination.

Downtown Athens parking options

The Athens Downtown Development Authority offers numerous on-street spaces throughout the downtown area and operates the College Avenue Parking Deck [map] [rates].

Campus Transit

There is no charge for visitors to ride the campus transit system, one of the largest and safest campus bus systems in the nation. Buses operate only on days when classes are in session. Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m. Peak level of service are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Campus transit operates vans from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. that are equipped to provide curb-to-curb transportation service for guests with disabilities. Services are provided by subscription and on-demand for unscheduled trips. Schedules for campus and Athens city routes are available at the Tate Student Center information desk and the Visitors Center.
