Nice to see Jennifer Lawrence gaining momentum again cause she does deserve to win the oscar. As for Argo, when your cast includes Ben Affleck, Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Tate Donavan, Victor Garber, Kyle Chandler, and a bunch of unknown actors who play the hostages but leave a very powerful impact on you, you know you've got the best ensemble cast

I only knew the first 4 names from that :). But you're right, Jennifer Lawrence was fantastic!

In Kyle Chandler's case, he's one of those "oh that guy" actors who you wouldn't believe hasn't played a superhero yet.

Tate Donovan (I spelled that wrong) was the voice of Hercules, Victor Garber was Mr. Andrews in Titanic and Jennifer Garner's boss on Allies (he also wed Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner), and Kyle Chandler was on the TV show Friday Night Lights which he won an Emmy for, he was the dad in Super 8, and he was in Zero Dark Thirty.

Jones was great in Lincoln, but DiCaprio, Waltz, and Jackson all had more memorable performances in Django and the award could and should have easily gone to any one of them.

Waltz and DiCaprio not even nominated for their amazing performances in Django Unchained? Bullshit.

Why is everyone nominating Alan Arkin? I have nothing against the dude, but his performance in Argo was NOT award worthy. You are telling me Alan Arkin deserved that spot over Leo or Christoph Waltz? Forgive my french, but that is some muthafuckin' bullshit!!!

Jake Estes

You are correct sir. It is a travesty that Dicaprio wasn't nominated. Arkin barely had 10 minutes of screen time in Argo!

Totally agree on that! Alan Arkin's performance wasn't award worthy at all. Even John Goodman was a more worthy candidate from the same movie (although DiCaprio, Waltz and Jackson's performances in Django beats the hell out of it)

I think the shortest performance that was ever nominated was Actress Playing Denzel Washington's Mom in American Gangster. it's literally between 45 and 90 seconds but Wow what a performance.

Come on now Gage, that's kind of Tommy Lee's Schtick. Tommy Lee Winning it big for the Fugitive over Dicaprio in Who's eating Gilbert Grape. Compared to that incident last night is no outrage at all.

I'm sorry, is it just me or all all the awards ceremonies this year on serious drugs. I mean really, I just watched End of Watch and while its plot might not be great, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena acting blew me away. They have got to get some cred for their really amazing performances.

End of Watch was good, but 2012 was a strong field for films.

It was good, but being good wasn't enough this year unluckily. As the guy above me said, it was a very strong year, so in order to be nominated it had to be great. But no doubt, Gyllenhaal and Pena should definitely be acknowledged for their performances!

Only one i kind of have a problem with is best cast. I thought it should have went to SLP. But i guess everyone who voted felt bad about the affleck snub at the oscars, so they gave him the SAG for "best picture".

I don't get why they would give any win to a film in the name of compensation, because the said film was wrongly snubbed in another awards show. I mean, the cast of Argo really wasn't that strong if compared to the other nominees

One nomination that surprised me, yet I believe was deserved, was Javier Bardem for supporting actor. He was very good. I think Alan Arkin and Robert De Niro shouldn't be on there and both should be replaced by Leonardo Dicaprio and Christoph waltz.

'Django' was snubbed in all categories because actors are stupid and thus should not be allowed to vote for each other.
