Why is everyone nominating Alan Arkin? I have nothing against the dude, but his performance in Argo was NOT award worthy. You are telling me Alan Arkin deserved that spot over Leo or Christoph Waltz? Forgive my french, but that is some muthafuckin' bullshit!!!

Totally agree on that! Alan Arkin's performance wasn't award worthy at all. Even John Goodman was a more worthy candidate from the same movie (although DiCaprio, Waltz and Jackson's performances in Django beats the hell out of it)

I think the shortest performance that was ever nominated was Actress Playing Denzel Washington's Mom in American Gangster. it's literally between 45 and 90 seconds but Wow what a performance.

Come on now Gage, that's kind of Tommy Lee's Schtick. Tommy Lee Winning it big for the Fugitive over Dicaprio in Who's eating Gilbert Grape. Compared to that incident last night is no outrage at all.

I'm sorry, is it just me or all all the awards ceremonies this year on serious drugs. I mean really, I just watched End of Watch and while its plot might not be great, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena acting blew me away. They have got to get some cred for their really amazing performances.

It was good, but being good wasn't enough this year unluckily. As the guy above me said, it was a very strong year, so in order to be nominated it had to be great. But no doubt, Gyllenhaal and Pena should definitely be acknowledged for their performances!

I don't get why they would give any win to a film in the name of compensation, because the said film was wrongly snubbed in another awards show. I mean, the cast of Argo really wasn't that strong if compared to the other nominees

One nomination that surprised me, yet I believe was deserved, was Javier Bardem for supporting actor. He was very good. I think Alan Arkin and Robert De Niro shouldn't be on there and both should be replaced by Leonardo Dicaprio and Christoph waltz.
