The School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities will begin Fall 2013. The Arts and Humanities are at the heart of a real education. The study of Arts and Humanities at Western is intellectually challenging, culturally stimulating, and personally satisfying. It will open your mind to ideas, topics, skills and capacities that will literally change your life. Our Faculty has eight departments: Classical Studies, English, Film Studies, French Studies, Modern Languages and Literatures, Philosophy, Visual Arts and Women’s Studies and Feminist Research. As well, there are programs in Linguistics and in Writing, Rhetoric and Professional Communication.
Incorporating the study of great literature, art, film, philosophy, ancient and modern languages, an Arts and Humanities degree delivers a unique understanding of the richness and complexity of our common humanity.
