Outstanding Advisor of the Year

During Spring Semester, the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences presents its annual awards for excellence in academic advising. Two Advisors, one faculty and one professional/staff, receive an Outstanding Academic Advising Award. Each of the recipients receives a special salary increase (or a support account in years without raises) and a recognition certificate at the Franklin College awards luncheon.

The Franklin College invites nominations from undergraduate students for the Outstanding Academic Advisor Awards. Any Arts and Sciences professional/staff or faculty Advisor involved in the academic advisement of undergraduate students in the Franklin College may be nominated.

Nomination forms are available in 118 Memorial Hall. Hand-written nominations are also acceptable. Supporting documents may be included. E-mail nominations are encouraged. You may also print a nomination form (PDF). To nominate an Advisor, please include the nominee's name and department, designate faculty or professional/staff Advisor, and provide a list of the reasons which support your belief that this person should receive the award. Nominators should submit their names, addresses, and telephone numbers along with the nomination.

A selection committee comprised of lower and upper division student representatives will evaluate nominations on the evidence of effective advising qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding Academic Advisor.
