Substance Misuse
Turning Point are one of the largest providers of substance
misuse services in England and Wales. We have been helping people
find a new direction and recover for good for more than 50
years. During that time, we have helped thousands of people by
providing recovery services that are responsive, based on the
specific needs of each individual and moulded to the
characteristics of communities. It's only by putting the whole
person and the whole family at the heart of what we do that we can
achieve recovery for all.
We apply this approach in every service that we run whether it be the 'Recovery Shield' football tournament in Tyneside or the Roving Recovery Vehicles that travel around Gloucestershire, East Kent and Wiltshire; no matter how, when or where support is needed, our support is out there and everywhere. The pathways of care between each service and within each service are diverse and localised, because it's the individuals and communities that determine our approach.
Our Peer mentoring services operate in all our services across England and Wales. We believe that the experience and knowledge gained by people achieving recovery is an essential support for those at an earlier stage of their journey. It's the people on this journey, as well as their families and carers, who know what's needed to achieve recovery. That's why they're involved in what we do, whether it's supporting the design and branding of new services, producing Service User newsletters or establishing Social Enterprises within the community, we are there to support them.
If you have any questions about our work, please get in touch.
This spring, we'll be taking this approach to four new Integrated Services in; Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Northumberland and East Kent. These are exciting new ventures for Turning Point to deliver innovation and drive the recovery of greater numbers of people. Selina Douglas, Managing Director describes what this means for Turning Point:
"It's about taking services to people and providing support to those who need them most.
We firmly believe that these services will turn people's lives around, driven by our values and belief that Turning Point can take services beyond current designs, breaking moulds and deliver services that will have a long lasting impact across counties."
